iphone 6 plus rotation problem

follow-up to last post:

• compass re-calibration is only temporary, problem returns rather soon (less than 1 day, maybe even in hours)
• bug filed
• i wonder if it's a stuck sensor, but logic is still telling me that this is software - Setting Reset and Compass-trick both are software related, and maybe some process related to getting orientation data is failing or crashed

I got my phone replaced in the Apple store a couple of days ago and have not experienced that issue again. So seems like a defect in one of the two sensors...

Go get a replacement!

I Have the same issues with my 6 plus 128gb. Downright annoying. I also find the processing speed is very slow. Switching between apps etc is very laggy

• not iOS 8.0.2
• not Standard over Zoomed view - both do this
• compass calibration is not permanent fix
• power button and unlock sometimes helps
• complete power down and reboot helps for a short time
• feels like software, but might be hardware (one of two sensors) - not certain

Mine was replaced and I didn't have another problem - until I dunked it in the toilette. The next one has also been trouble free.

While there's a lot of people that are convinced it's a software issue I think you'd see a much larger number of people complaining if that were the case since software would effect every phone. The fact that it's a limited number of people and that the replacement phones have fixed the problem seems to indicate that this is a hardware issue. Try replacing the phone - now, while you're under the warranty.

I also wish i could turn the UI rotation off and behave like the regular iphone (portrait view).

Since the apps UI is almost always in portrait mode.

This has worked! Since I have "Reset All Settings" I am no longer having issues with the rotation getting stuck. DO THIS IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS

Slide finger over home button. When a little box appears click the lock with an arrow going around it clockwise. Done.

iOS 8.1 is now available and in the list of things it fixes, Orientation is listed. I was one of the doubters saying it wasn't necessarily software related, but clearly Apple thought it was.

I hope this fixes it for everyone who has been having issues.

The update didn't fix my issue, where apps are starting upside down... maybe it has something to do with the apps themselves...

Apple what have you done . Coul not send a reply with my ipad here because Safari has a Problem :-(

It is 100% reproducible with 5s,6 and iPad Air and Safari, messages, FaceTime, whatsapp

Please fix it
