music syncing problems iPhone 6

I have 128 gig iPhone 6 and I am trying to sync a 80 gig music library to it. The sync process gets hung on "Waiting for changes to be applied". I am syncing on a a 128 macbook pro with retina display and my iTunes library is on external hard drive.

I had the same issue with the 128gb, I dragged 50gb worth of music on to it, but there were loads of greyed out songs and incomplete albums. I was able to see the albums on the phone, but when I tried to delete them and start again, they stayed on the phone and registered as taking up space, but the window in iTunes was blank. Tried lots of the suggestions on this page, which did not work, so in the end did a full backup and restore to factory settings (the restore backup didn't solve it) and I am just dragging 200 songs at a time across, which seems to be working. I guess you just can't dump 100's of albums on to it in one go, like I was able to on my 5 😠

Spent a few hours this afternoon doing this, still getting problems, you will get so far dragging albums on and you get a 'preparing to update' message which causes the songs you are trying to put on to be greyed out. Delete these, wait 10 mins or so for it to think about it and try again. Oh, and it removes lots of the album artwork off your phone, then at the end of the update process puts them back on again. SO ANNOYING!!!!

I don't know what I did to fix the issue... but

The first time I was syncing music it was only doing some of the selected songs.

Second time it did no cover art.

The third time it finally synced everything correctly with cover art.

I removed both my 4S and 5S from devices in the iTunes Store and that seemed to help the second time, but like I said there was no cover art.

So IDK what is going on exactly.

I would say to keep trying.

I am getting similar problems, however iTunes just won't let me copy anything to my iPhone 6. Syncing doesn't do anything, and if I try to drag just one song over to the iPhone it shows the No Entry sign and won't let me put anything on there. It works fine with my iPod Touch.

I am sure I am doing something fundamentally wrong, so please can someone help with this?

This might sound strange but after half a day with exactly the same issues as described by others in this thread and getting nowhere - I'm actually relieved that my misery has company...

  • iphone 6
  • 128 gb
  • problem syncing complete playlists (tracks missing, greyed out etc... )
  • Trying to remove library (deselect sync) to no affect.
  • Magically deciding it would sync... but then only partially
  • Went to 128gb for my 50gb music collection.

I don't buy that my music collection is too large.

I shouldn't have to finesse anything... It should just work

... and now I know it's not me... Its the bloody phone!

I guess it's just a waiting game till it's fixed. .. I was kind of hoping 8.02. ... Perhaps 8.03?

No it's not just you, its interesting the common thread seems to be involving the 128gb model. I did a test with my old 64 gb iPhone 5 running iOS 8 and was able to happily drag and drop and sync my music with no difficulty. Perhaps the issue is not with the operating system then, maybe the flash memory they have used on the 6 is not saving properly????

iphone 6 64gb having problems galore getting music synced correctly. However, I have just de authorised my old iPhone which was showing in my iTunes account and hey presto, previously tracks with the red stop symbol are now all fine and playing correctly. So, step to try is DE-AUTHORISE PREVIOUS IPHONE THEN SYNC MUSIC TO NEW PHONE.

i just recently got my iphone 6, 64 GB and my itunes not being able to sync with my phone has got to be the most frustating thing ever.

the first time it happened, i have never gotten so mad at something so small!

i tried all of these suggestions and more and STILL my phone wouldn't sync to my itunes. until it suddenly randomly started to sync without having to do anything.

now today, i wanted to sync my phone for a second time, not expecting to run into any problems this time around

but AGAIN it will not sync.

what is the problem? is it an iphone6/ios8 issue?

APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS. i'm about to call in and give a major complaint. this is so annoying beyond belief.

I've done all of the above, got my music to sync OK, but....if I decide to add another album or song to the playlist it won't work, and I have to delete everything and re-sync the lot again. I went to a so called Genius Bar last week to complain, a not very helpful assistant denied there was any kind of problem and was generally rude and unpleasant. How I wish for US style customer service sometimes! Apple you have scored some major own goals here.
