Car Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with iPhone 6

I can make and receive call the text function doesn't work at all...frustrating

Apple io hope 8.1 will have a fix ??

A slightly different version of this problem: . I just got my new iPhone 6 and tried to connect it with my Mazda CX5 Bluetooth system. The device is pairing and I see my phone book on the car display but I can't dial using the car's touchscreen and the sound doesn't go through the car's speaker (only through the phone speaker). My previous iPhone 5s (with iOS 8) worked just fine... I tried deleting the device and pairing it up again with no success. Still can't hear the sound through the car speakers and can't dial though the car's screen. Anyone has a creative idea how to solve this? This is super annoying...

Same problem connecting to my 2013 BMW. car recognizes phone, can view contacts, in-car speakers work for Siri & music but cannot make or receive calls. almost got in an accident the other day trying to answer my phone. very disappointed with apple.

Just installed iOS 8.1 and it seems to fix it.

iOS 8.1 update fixed the problem for me too.

So since I've updated to iOS 8.1, connectivity is now established again. I had wiped out network settings and got it to work sporadically, but as of the weekend, it was NOT working. No changes other than updating to 8.1 and it is back to working again.🙂 I'm keeping my fingers crossed an hoping this is now fixed.

One minor point of frustration though is that Siri still does not work with my 2011 Liberty. Previously, with iOS 6 it DID work and I believe it also worked at some point on iOS 7, but cannot confirm this. If I were able to get that to work, it would be helpful, though at this point, I'll be quite pleased if iOS 8 fixes the basic connectivity needed for hands free calling. I'm hoping others also have positive experiences with the update.

I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox - Downloaded iOS 8.1 today and my bluetooth is still not working in my car. So frustrating.. I reset all the devices and my car is not even recognizing my phone.. When are they going to fix this?? 😟😟

For those that installing 8.1 has resolved the car connectivity issue, did you need to do anything else other than upgrade the phone software? (I.e. De-bond, turn off Bluetooth, reset all phone settings etc etc etc)?

On connecting my phone this morning, 8.1 made no difference on it's own.

I have same problem. I can make facetime/skype calls.

When i make GSM call i can't hear and me can't hear.

With all bluetooth devices this problem, in my car and with headset.

Apple please fix or open downgrade to ios7.
