iPhone 6 plus exchange NOT Working

I had a iPhone 4s and my work uses Microsoft Exchange for their mail.

I have been using that on my phone for over 3 years without issues.

I have purchased a iPhone 6Plus and added the account to that phone and it keeps saying message was rejected by the server.

I cant get any emails either. I have deleted the account on the phone numerous times. Then Re-Adding the Account. But I keep getting the same thing.

Then for the **** of it I added the exchange email to my iPad 3 and it worked fine.

Also I noticed when I am in the settings below the Mail Days to Sync it has (Automatic Reply Loading...)

I dont have this on any other device. what is this ?

Did I find a Bug in iPhone 6+ ???

Help. 😠

Hi All,

Got my iPhone 6 today, and had the same problem as others above.

It verified the connection to my Exchange server, but wasn't picking up emails.

Went into Outlook Web app for my company, and then chose "Options".

Then went into "Phone".

Then "Mobile Phones".

It had all the phones and ipads and android devices listed: deleted all the old ones and now it's connecting fine.

Looks like it was a pure fluke that my iPhone 6 was the 11th device I'd set up.

This is the solution for me! Thank you! I was at my wit's end - had the same Auto Reply loading forever, couldn't sync my Exchange mail on my new iPad Air 2, thought maybe I had restored from a corrupt backup, was on the verge of resetting and reconfiguring the iPad manually, app by app, and voila I found your solution! Went to Exchange on the web, my options, and saw 10 devices connected, including old devices from years ago. Removed the old ones, and bang - all my accounts are now syncing perfectly and the Auto Reply error has gone!

I just got my Iphone 6 plus to work. I read that if you log into your Outlook account, on the email page, and go to

Security> Password Scroll down until you find Turn off 2 Step Verification. Turn it off and Wha La My Iphone 6 plus uploaded the outlook account.

So just put in your information under outlook, as asked but it can't verify your account if this two step process is On. Turn it off.

I hope this works. What a headache. The Sprint people were telling me to do all kinds of dumb stuff. Even told me I had a old an antiquated e-mail address. Looks like their level of mobile phone knowledge is old and antiquated. lol

Happy to get my emails again.

My upgrade was starting to feel like a downgrade without it.

Hotmail Solution:

I spent hours trying to figure this out and it turns out it was the "two-step verification" that was causing the problem. Once I disabled that feature through my hotmail account using a web browser, I was able to connect my mail to my iPhone easily.

Follow these steps:

1. sign on to your hotmail account using a web browser at www.hotmail.com

2. click on your name in the top right hand corner and select "Account Settings"

3. click the "Security & Privacy" tab

4. click "More security settings"

5. scroll down to Two-Step Verification and disable it

Now you should be able to sign into your mail account using your regular hotmail password.

*If you have installed an "Identity Verification App" that requires a password (different from your email password), then try using that password to connect your mail account to your iPhone. If you cannot remember it, or are unsure if you have installed a Identity Verification App, then follow steps 1-4 and scroll down to the Identity Verification Apps section and check to see if anything has been installed and disable as needed.

Apple needs to get on this and fix their Exchange settings in iOS 9. My 2 2 Step Verification worked fine in iOS 8 and it should work fine in iOS 9 if Apple takes the time to fix their software. My corporate email used 2 - Step Verification for security and there's no reason a corporation should be asked or required by an Apple bug to downgrade security. This is an APPLE issue that I wish APPLE would fix for it's corporate users. Quick solution, download the Google Calendar if you're using Google Business Apps and stop using the iPhone Calendar App until APPLE fixes their buggy release of iOS 9.

This solved my problem with Exchange. I opened my web mail, selected Option, selected Phone, and it showed all of the phone restores I had done (because my iPhone 6s would not restore my backup, so I kept resetting and erasing, and apparently Exchange saw it as my adding devices. So I deleted all but two, and my emails synced right away. Thank you aurorius!
