iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

It does sound like something in your iPhone 5s backup isn't playing well with your new Plus. As awful as it sounds, I would recommend setting up your new fabulous phone like a new phone and manually adding your apps back.

I was having the same problem. You need to set up as a new iPhone and do not restore from iCloud. It's a pain because you have to download everything and set it all up again. But it may fix the problem. I was experiencing blue screens, unlimited crashes, etc........ Do not restore from backup. If you read The initial post this resolve the problem for many users

I had a 128GB iPhone 6+ (t-mobile) that was delivered to me on sept. 19th... I too was having random crashes. Mostly springboard reboots. I thought maybe it was just software related. I flashed my iPhone and set it up as a new iPhone on a couple of occasions and it still randomly had issues. So for me, it wasn't tied to a backup/restore.

Couple days ago, I found a dead pixel on my iPhone and had the genius bar replace it. My replacement iPhone is a completely different story. I have yet to have any issues at all with it. It was initially loaded with the stock 8.0 that all the first 6+'s had. I updated immediately to 8.0.2 and proceeded to set it up as a new iPhone from scratch and haven't had a problem yet.

I've not yet tried to track down if there are any differences between the iPhone I had and my replacement one. In the past, there has been different components used in any given model of iPhone. Chips that are essentially "the same", but different vendors. If I track down anything, I'll be sure to post here. This could explain why some have issues?

I'd still say that most issues that are just annoying reboots will likely be fixed via a coming iOS update (maybe to account for problematic components - this has happened before - there are ways for software to fix some hardware issues). But if you have "<insert colour here> screens of death", I'd definitely take it in to an actual store. Apple has always been good about making people happy (I've NEVER had Apple refuse to take back an iPhone that I've had a problem with since 2007 - and I've had quiet a few). I know it is frustrating to take the time to go, but I'm betting that if you do make an appointment at the genius bar Apple will make it right for you. Skip your carrier and go directly to apple too (it doesn't matter if you ordered through your carrier).

Add me to the list of those having problems with the iPhone 6+ 128 GB model. Phone was installed as a new phone and I manually copied about 1100 apps. Phone will work fine for a few hours, then starts rebooting. Same apps on my iPhone 5 with no problems. I open up a folder and run an app and the phone crashes. Is this an issue that Apple is addressing, or should I return the phone to my local Apple store?

Take to an Apple store. Just had mine inspected by a genius bar rep (iPhone 6 16gb AT&T iOs 8.0.2). He did not even look at the screen - just noted down the serial number and IMEI and said it would be replaced in a couple of days. Very frustrating. No loan phone offered. Must be a hardware issue. Probably a batch of defective phones delivered without adequate quality control from an assembly factory in China.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that all of you report the issue to Apple technical support. Insist on deal with a Senior Advisor.

I am dealing with a dedicated senior advisor regarding my issue. He is one I sent my crash logs to. He is also the only person I now deal with about this issue - saves having to repeatedly explain the problem to new junior advisors who will simply run through the standard trouble shooting script with you. He is also the person who is liaising with the iOS software engineers.

The other thing is that if you have your phone swapped out for a "new one" at an Apple store, you are getting a refurb device (like my phone when it is returned to Apple, will be check and given to someone else).

Dealing with Apple support at a senior level means you can ask for a BRAND NEW factory phone to be sent to you, from China.

Apple have not had many of these reports at that level. My advisor was unaware of a single similar complaint to mine.

Something new happened.

I was out tonight and suddenly I got a message that my storage was full. Its a 128GB iPhone Plus. I only had about 1.1GB on my photo roll and 2 pages worth of apps, but the free space was at 0 😕. I'm sure I was using about 15-20GB or less. I tried doing a reset to see if the free space went up, but the iPhone once again is stuck on an endless loop.

I'm on the phone once again waiting for an agent. I'm sure they wont be able to help me and I will have to restore once again from iTunes losing all my latest messages, calls, etc. This is such a pain. Apple has really dropped the ball with this. I have been an Apple user for a few years now, but this situation has really hurt my respect for Apple. They have done a **** poor job of fixing/replacing my iPhone and the overall handling of the case.

😠😠😠

I consider iOS8 to be the worst tested, and most bug ridden release of iOS ever. Extremely poor performance by Apple.

And just for the record, as a Windows 7 user, I can honestly say that the worst software I use on my PC regularly, by a VERY long way, is by Apple - iTunes!

It will be same for many Windows PC users, ensuring a wonderfully negative first experience of Apple software for them, and ensuring they never want to buy a Mac.
