iPhone 6 Plus Keeps Crashing PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge Apple fan, so I ask this question wishing and hoping my iPhone 6 Plus would just perform the way I know it should be.

Since restoring from my old iPhone 5S backup onto my 6 Plus 128GB (AT&T) running iOS 8.0, my 6 Plus is laggy (animations are very slow and stutter), freezy (after hitting "done" it often freezes for a good five seconds before registering the click), buggy (the keyboard sometimes doesn't appear at all, the "halos" around the folders on the home screen sometimes appear and sometimes don't, seems totally arbitrary), and crashy (whenever doing certain tasks like fast app switching, trying to change wallpaper, and others, the phone crashes, turns off the radios, then shows the Apple screen before rebooting). The crashing is happening once every five to ten minutes, making the phone VERY FRUSTRATING TO USE.

I have tried manually restarting the phone, HOME + SLEEP reset to the Apple screen, and restoring again...My next step is a factory reset and manual reinstallation of all my apps again, which is making me sick just thinking about it...

All of these things scream SOFTWARE to me, but what do I know...is anyone else experiencing these issues on the 6 Plus? Should I just be waiting for an OS update, or did I just get a lemon phone? As I said, I love Apple, and this is not a post to flame (so please save your "Go buy an Android" for someone who cares). I just want my shiny new phone to work!!! Any help is appreciated.

It does sound like something in your iPhone 5s backup isn't playing well with your new Plus. As awful as it sounds, I would recommend setting up your new fabulous phone like a new phone and manually adding your apps back.

I too have a similar issue with my 6 plus. Apps are constantly crashing. I'll be using them and then it just returns to the home screen. Not sure if I should wait for an IOS update (I figured there are always bugs to work out) but I asked my friend who has an iPhone 5 if he's been having issues with IOS 8 and he said no. So I'm wondering if it's limited to my phone model or just my phone.

You shouldn't have apps crashing on a brand new phone. Have you closed all open apps fully, then rebooted to see if that helps?

Fully Close all Apps: Double tap your home button to bring up open apps. Each app will appear with an app icon and what the open page for that app looks like. With your finger swipe the app page upward. This fully closes the app.

Once all Apps are fully closed, reboot your iPhone. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone will restart.

See if apps are more stable once your iPhone comes back up.

I am experiencing the same issue since this morning on my iPhone 6 Plus. In fact, at one point, i saw the phone screen turning BLUE and then rebooted itself. It is the first time ever I have seen a BLUE SCREEN on an iPhone since i have started using it 5 years ago!!! Well done Apple, you are inching in closer to Windows!!! Apps crashing, even the native Messages app! I am not clear if this is a specific hardware issue or iOS 8 bug. Apple, please look into this and advice a fix.

I'be been an iPhone user since day one (2007)... I'm also an iOS developer. I know these devices pretty well. (-:

I too have 6+ 128gb (GSM) and experiencing siimilar issues. I'll also report that my phone "dies" like the battery is dead around 7% and won't show the battery dead graphic when try to power back on (plugging in to power does show the battery though). Clearly ios 8 still needs some work for the 6+. Don't think it has anything to with restoring from a backup from computer or iCloud (I started with a fresh, factory setup and have the same/similar problems). So don't waste your time restoring your phone over and over in frustration. I'm afraid our only solution is to wait for an iOS update. I'm sure apple is working their hardest to fix this Asap. I've had every iPhone version in the past, and there is always a period where this sort of thing happens. Hold tight. Most issues will go away by 2nd or 3rd ios update. It's irritating and inconvievent, but it's the pruce of admission for being the first to own a new version of hardware.

Update 2: I restored from icloud backup and this time did not set up the thumb print. It wasn't connecting to wi-fi so it stopped restoring all my old apps, but at least it is working now. Basically, I have all my data on there just not all the apps. They are in "waiting" mode, which is where I think I will keep it until the software update comes out. I hope this helps someone. 🙂

Also, the only other thing different I did this second time was unplug it from itunes after it downloaded the software while I was setting it back up. Yes, it did reboot on me several times so I had to keep starting from the Hello screen, but eventually it worked. I can't think of anything else that I did different to make it work.

Im also having the same issues. I have a 6 Plus 128GB.

Sometimes it works for hours without issue. Sometimes it crashes apps (both Apples and third parties) at launch. Sometimes I get a blue screen. Sometimes a red screen. Sometimes the phone just restarts with the Apple logo and takes a while to come back again.

Originally I restored from my iPhone 5S iCloud backup. Last night I put it in recovery mode and set it up as a new phone. Even before I started downloading third party apps it crashed once.

Could this be a hardware issue or does it sound more like software?

If I recall correctly my 5S (or maybe it was my 5?) also had random restarts, the first few months and then they just stopped. Did that happen to anyone else or am I making it up?

I can live with the issues for a few weeks until a software update comes along (if its something that other people are experiencing and could be fixed with a software update). If you think its hardware then I want to start moving to get a replacement from Apple/ATT ASAP.
