Why does Siri bluetooth connection in 2008 Toyota Prius with iOS 8 terminate outgoing call with message "call terminated by network" on Prius screen

Since installing iOS 8 , we can't get Siri to make outgoing calls with the Prius Bluetooth. Incoming calls work, but we get a message on the Prius screen, "call terminated by network" whenever we tell Siri to call out. She will recognize who we're calling, but as soon as the dialing starts, we get the call terminated message.

Any similar experience or ideas?

Latest update, sorry I didn't post earlier. 10/04/2014 spent 1:45 on the phone with Tech Support then a Senior Advisor, basically just allowing them to collect info. as there is no solution yet.

Same disconnection problem for all 3 devices; iOS 8.0.2, 4s, 5, 6+ (before update to iOS 8, 4s and 5 worked properly)

2007 Prius, 2009 Prius, both have problem

Spent the evening on the phone with a senior analyst at iPhone support and pointed them to our thread. They asked me to reset all my network settings which has no effect on Bluetooth but she said she was checking into something. If 8.1 is coming shortly, I would not bet on a fix for this- they are just getting it documented and who knows where on the priority list it is.

Keep calling and keep writing.

Same issues on 2009 Lexus ES350 -- iPhone 5 (verizon) with iOS 8.0.2. Unable to complete calls initiated with Siri on iPhone via Lexus bluetooth hands free.

Calls initiated on iPhone 5 by touching a saved favorite number go through without incident, as do those by touching any contact number on the iPhone screen. Pairing between iPhone 5 and Lexus established prior to iOS 8 upgrade. Will wait for the 8.1 upgrade -- may consider rolling back to iOS7 in the meantime to see if that re-establishes ability to make Siri calls on bluetooth.

Update: Just tried 8.1 it DID NOT WORK, still the same problem as identified by the original poster.

Technically it now has the same functionality as 8.0.1 again, whereas 8.0.2 broke more (caused all bluetooth dialing and speakerphone to no longer work). 8.1 restores it back to the same as 8.0.1 which has the original problem of disconnecting originally identified in this thread, you can dial manually and use bluetooth speakerphone but you cannot use Siri to place a hands free call or it will disconnect just before dialing the call.

Same with me, 8.1 did nothing to fix this problem. Three days ago, my case was escalated to yet another adviser. This person sent me a file to download to my iPhone. The file creates a data log when I use my phone via bluetooth. Once installed, I used seri to make a call from my car. Then, the data log was transferred back to Apple. The adviser I was speaking with mentioned that 8.1 was coming out today, but didn't sound like he expected it to help (if he thought it would work, why go through the bother of having me load the data collection file?). Maybe with the next release.....

Add to the group my 2007 Lexus ES350 has not changed- still does not work with Siri. Temporary workaround- When calls are terminated, they make the top of the recent calls list. NOT, a fix by any means but at least I don't have to search while driving.

This is more serious than many other issues as it goes to safety! Without sounding "jerky" this is dangerous and a fix could save a life.

Considering every phone manufacturer I have used in the last 7 years, (and there were several before I stuck with Apple,) managed to get this to work, with older technology, it would be shameful if this is on Apple's radar and they don't get a fix quickly. If I wasn't so wrapped up with my iPhone, i'd try a Galaxy 5. This really gets me angry. We've been patient.

On another note, I have Yosemite running on 3 iMacs without a glitch, but it does seem to run slower on my iMac 7.1 Duo core with only 4gb (max) of ram. An update i'd like to undo.

I have the same problem on iOS 8.0 .2 and on iOS 8.1 with a 2009 Toyota Prius I spent just under an hour last night on the phone with Apple. I got sent up to a senior advisor who just took information to pass on to an engineer. Everything has worked flawlessly up until iOS 8 with the Bluetooth phone calls. This is absolutely not a Toyota problem it is an iOS 8.1 problem. Apple needs to fix this since it is a safety issue.
