iPhone 6 Plus Volume

I recently purchased an iPhone 6 Plus and I noticed that the volume when on a call is very, very low. I turned the volume all the way up and there is still no improvement. When I had my iPhone 5S, I was able to actually turn down the volume because it was loud. Is anyone else having this problem?

*Phone volume is normal when on a call through Speakerphone or BT connection. Volume level problem is only experienced when using the ear piece.

This is really frustrating! I kept my plastic cover on due to the issues I've heard reported about the screen scratching easier than other models. First phone call and couldn't hear the person to understand. Second phone call took the plastic cover off and clear as day so obviously was the issue in my case but annoying given now I have no protection over scratches other than my case which thankfully is a leather wallet, hopefully it doesn't drop when I've got the wallet open!!

That plastic film that came on the phone isn't designed to be a screen protector, it's packing material. There are clear film and solid screen protectors you can buy to cover the glass, but with normal use since launch day, I don't have a single scratch on my phone. I've had every iPhone since 2007 and have never used anything to cover the glass.

Its a product issue, not sure if hardware or software. After swapping 2 phones, its still the same. I am so much into apple ecosystem that moving to Android so soon is hard too. Just trying to adjust with this huge limitation(at least for me) on my $1000 phone.

Funny that when I called apple care, they suggest to put phone right 'on the ear'. However, the phone has high SAR rating and we better keep a distance of 5mm between ear and phone. They are asking us to choose between voice clarity or potential brain cancer 🙂

my 6 plus froze during update, so i was at the apple store yesterday.. they restored and updated the phone, but when i asked them about the low call volume (i thot it was better, but it's still way low compared to my old 4s), they took it into the back and when the guy came back he said it sounded normal to him and to the tech.. he came up with several excuses not to exchange the phone for me.. so as much as i would like to "like" this phone, for $1000, i can't justify it anymore.. returning it tmrw..

Even worse is that the speaker phone does not work either. When using speaker phone, it becomes one way communication. The recipient could not hear anything I said, but ironically, I could heard from the recipient with norma volume with speaker on.

I ended up using headphones to take phone calls.
