iPhone 6 screen easily scratched?
Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

After 18 days using the iPhone 6 with 128 GB i have a mico scratch in the middle of the display like a hairline.
I am super careful with the phone have no idea how i got the scratch. I used before the iPhone 5 2 years i got no scratch.
I have read many of these posts and I am here to report yet another issue with easy scratching. I "upgraded" from my 5s. I loved it, but it was only $100 more for the 6, so why not? I have had it for 4 days and three nights. I have a case, but no protector. I have an Ipad mini 2, ipod touch, and macbook air. None have any screen scratches and are in great condition. I have this phone for 4 f-in days and it gets a scratch? I baby my tech objects because I came from windows and was sick of replacing every year. But 4 days? Seriously? I then make phone calls and they say they have not experienced any issues with this; maybe they should refer to this forum and the more than 250,000 views...

Stock1019,
You have a 14 day no questions asked return window. Even if it is scratched. If you purchased at a phone carrier they extend Apple's 14 day warranty.
Good luck.
JTGahan,
is there a place you can show me this in writing because they are all fighting me. From the store to the authorized retailer I bought from. I will look up this 14 day no questions return to speak of.

No, you don't.
Many places allow you to return undamaged items within a reasonable time frame.
Dunno any place that lets you purchase something, destroy it then return it for a full refund.

Apple does not have 14 day warranty.
Items purchased at an Apple store can be returned to Apple within 14 days, if they are undamaged.
Apple items purchased elsewhere can be returned to place of purchase per that store's return policy. It has nothing to do with Apple.
Apple does not give refunds for items purchased elsewhere.

Stock1019,
Sorry I used the term warranty, I meant 14 Day Performance Satisfaction. It was in my literature included in my phone box, explained to me by Verizon, also explained to me by Apple Support to exercise this option.
Maybe they are tired of replacing phones and are pushing back harder now. The phone does not perform as you expected, just say you are exercising your right to return the product because you can't see through the screen without looking through a screen defect and would like another phone. I asked for and received another iPhone 6+ and my second phone has not had any scratch issues but the camera was replaced at the Apple Store. Apparently the 6+ has a mechanical shutter that does go bad, the 6 focuses with software.
I wish Chris CA would mind his own business. I returned my phone within the 14 window as suggested by Apple and it was returned through Verizon. I kept my phone until they sent me a new one. They send a return UPS label in the box so there was no shipping cost.

How do you figure that you damaging your iPhone a “screen defect”?
I wish Chris CA would mind his own business.
and I wish you would learn how to quote properly...
and if you do not want people responding to you, don’t post lies in publicly accessible forums...

So you didn’t return it and get your money back. You exchanged it at place of purchase.
Okay.
Verizon also has a 14 day return policy. But it is Verizon’s policy

to make everyone feel a tiny little bit better, does anyone ever think those fine hairline scratch(es) were actually during production.
This is because,
1. 3 out of 5 out-of-box brand new iphone 6+ that I've been through has 1 or 2 fine scratches (60%) - current one was born with a scar line under battery.
2. you did not notice easily because they were very fine that only at some angles/light condition you can notice them
3. those fine scratches (at least those out of box) might be under the top-layer coating, so you'll never be able to remove them (came with birth again)
4. the plastic cover on brand new phone is so dirty and beaten up, so it is also possible the phone was scratched during reckless packaging
from those observations, I'd say it is more due to production quality control level (1 or 2 fine hairlines are within Apply Spec - per Genius).
Genius also told me that there is no way to buff off those fine lines (aka birth mark).
I'm ready to settle after having seen no perfect screen so far. Would settle with my last Apple Souvenir that has a unique birth mark.

Okay.
"Only items that have been purchased directly from Apple, either through the Apple Online Store or at an Apple Retail Store, can be returned to Apple. Apple products purchased through other retailers must be returned in accordance with their respective returns and refunds policy."
I'm infuriated by the "higher level" posters whose answer to the scratching issue is "put the phone in a case" / "you damaged it, live with it".
Apple invests a lot of time for the beautiful design of iPhones, and promotes the look and feel of the devices in their keynotes and marketing. How these phones feel in the hand — for example the smoothness and rounded edges of the display — is one of the reasons why I love iPhone. There is the premium quality feel to them.
A case would negate the feel of the design and also the thinness of the phone. If the screen's quality is so bad that the phone NEEDS a case, Apple could've just as well designed a rectangular brick to be hidden in one.
Two years with iPhone 5, without a case: not a single scratch on the screen when I sold it. All it took was some common sense taking care of the phone: I kept it in a pocket, always by itself. I didn't lay it screen down on hard surfaces. Etc.
With the same level of care with iPhone 6, the screen has a few scratches on it (visible in hard light). The quality of the screen/glass in iPhone 6 is clearly inferior to iPhone 5. There is no denying it.
"Put it in a case." No. I want to enjoy Apple's design. The correct solution to the scratching issue is that Apple replaces the glass with better quality glass that has the same scratch resistance as iPhone 5 had.
Last Friday I also got the iPhone 6 Plus. Unboxing it, I removed the plastic that covers the glass, and lo & behold: there was a 1/4 inch scratch on the bottom bezel of the phone, courtesy of Foxconn (factory FK2). So in this case, the first scratch was included in the price. "Cosmetic damage" right from the factory. Wow, Apple.

Do you have a question?
A Case and screen protector is also not the answer I have had two iPhone 6 pluses that went from their original sealed box into a case and screen protector and yet both of them ended up scratched. So no not even putting it in a case should be an acceptable solution

And we wish you would provide accurate information. Apple doesn't have a 14 day warranty. If you're not going to use the correct terms, then don't post. All you'll end up doing is creating confusion.

Then you did something wrong or the case/protectors were defective, or there was sufficient force applied that got through the protection.
Are you saying it's better to not have a screen protector or case on the device? Do you run a third-party iPhone repair service and are just trying to drum up business?
