iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

Had the same issue with my iPhone 6 bluetooth and 3 of my Mercedes cars. "Reset all settings" from the reset menu twice back to back fixed the issue for me after updating to 8.0.2.

I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE AND GOT IT TO PAIR AND WORK WITH MY 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA.....MADE A FEW SUCCESSFUL CALLS WILL REPORT AGAIN IF ISSUE COMES BACK UP

Another confirmation this is an OS problem, not a new hardware issue. My iPhone 5 worked perfectly with the Dension Bluetooth adapter in my car, both for streaming music and for phone calls. After upgrading to iOS 8.0 the phone can stream music but phone calls do not work. The car used to recognize a phone call and automatically switch the radio into PHONE mode no matter what it was doing. Now it doesn't enter PHONE mode even if I manually place or answer a call. Upgrading to iOS 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 has had no effect.

Additionally, when streaming music from the iPhone 5 to my EcoXBT speaker, the Bluetooth LED on the device is supposed to be a solid blue when connected. But now with iOS 8.x the Bluetooth LED flickers in a repeating pattern. This tells me the Bluetooth signal from the phone is no longer seen as "continuous".

Afternoon All. A quick update on my iPhone 6. Having played about with just about every setting you can imagine, I have concluded (and tested and confirmed) with backups, restores, etc. that selecting RESET ALL SETTINGS from the iPhone clears out enough of the 'corrupted bluetooth setup' to allow the phone to reconnect properly to the bluetooth setup in my Range Rover Sport and to remember the settings through power offs (both of the car and the phone). Its a huge pain re-entering all the settings on the phone (for wifi, restrictions, notifications, wallpaper, etc) but all the music and video content stayed on the phone throughout. I'm still very disappointed in Apple for having this issue (as it does not exist on the 5s after updating to 8.0.2) but hopefully they will crack it soon. In the meantime, the RESET ALL SETTINGS worked for me (basically putting the phone back to almost a brand new phone after restoring from a previous iPhone 5S backup) so hopefully it will sort things out for you too.

I "Reset All Settings" on my iPhone 6 and deleted my device from my vehicle Bluetooth. I reconnected my iPhone to my Bluetooth in my Toyota and it now works as well as it did before upgrading to a new iPhone. I had to go and reset my preference settings in my phone but it was worth the trouble. So far it's working as desired. Thanks for the advice.

I'm experiencing the same problem with my iPhone 5 iOS 8.0.2 and my 2014 Mazda 3. After a full factory reset for the phone and after wiping out all bluetooth settings in my car i was able to make one phone call, after that i was back to the starting position. Since in Europe is illegal to talk on the phone while driving if not using bluetooth i've purchased Plantronics 2 M165 and guess what, i'm having the same problems with it. All functions on the handsfree like redial, pick up, hang up, etc are not working. After a wipe i'm able to pick up from the phone and then select the handsfree as audio device, but after a minute it stops working and i can use only the phone even if it seems that i'm using the handsfree as an audio device.

When will apple finally address this issue and stop play this silence game ?

If we can't use the phone for phone calls why we need phones, ***.

HI.. Am using iPhone 5S and didn't have any issues with Bluetooth connectivity until I updated to iOS 8.0.2. Now the settings shows connected to the car stereo, however not able to make or receive any call using the cars Bluetooth connection. I tried forgetting the device and reconnecting, but of no use..

Redial, pick up and hang up are not working now..

when is apple gonna revolve this issue.

The good news is Tim Cook and dozens of other Apple execs and all of their buddies outside of Apple are likely having the same issues. I am sure this is going to get some attention inside Apple even if us little people can't get our voice heard. I am having trouble with more than just my car. It's also affecting my ability to use a BT headset. The Bluetooth stack in iOS 8 is a pile compared with previous iOS releases. It definitely needs some work.

I'm having the same problem with both cars, both are Nissan. One car is only 2 years old and the other car is only 3 weeks old. I called Nissan to eliminate them from this problem and they confirmed that it's not them and that even their reps/staff can't use their iPhones in any of their cars. I called Apple and they said to wipe both iPhones and reinstall as new so I have done this and I'm still having the same problem with both phones in both cars. I called them back as they requested me to if it still wasn't working and they confirmed that it is a bug.

Come on Apple, it's obvious and you've admitted that it is down to the ios8.0.2, just get it fixed or revert the bluetooth back until you've sorted it.

phones are Iphone 5 & 4s

Same general problems as everyone else. 2013 Mercedes C350, iPhone 6, ios 8.0.2.

In my case, the phone was paired and working fine until last night when I went the thru Bluetooth Audio pairing process.

After that, my phone would connect and disconnect over and over, so that I could not make calls or play audio.

Then I deleted the profiles on my phone and the car.

Now the phone stays paired, but when I place a call on my phone, the audio does not play thru my car even though my iPhone shows that I am paired and sending audio to "MB Bluetooth".

Apple please help!
