Nah, it's not a design flaw, it's a design side effect. Thinner device, rounded edges, presumably thinner metal to reduce weight, and a longer device will all contribute to reduced strength, especially on the long axis. Also, look for those beautiful rounded corners on the glass to scratch first.
Treated with proper, gentle care, there should be no problems. The holster idea is a good one, if the holster itself is strong. The 6 Plus, being longer and wider should be handled even more gently. Holster users--beware your seatbelts!
However, I did hear one thread where someone received 10 phones, and 4 were bent right out of (or should I say IN) the box.
It will bend in any pocket, this is terrible!!!! Anyone saying this is not a big deal or that it should be expected because it is thin or whatever, is just wrong...
We just want it to be like the iPhone 5s.. or 5c or 5 or 4s, ect.. they do not bend.... I think 99+% of people keep their cell phone in their pocket... how are you supposed to carry this "correctly" if you have to hold it in your hand everywhere you go, its no good, I don't want to give up the use of one of my limbs to carry my phone around.
Can anyone name even one other phone out there that had this issue and is acceptable on????
I have been holding off buying mine until this issue is fixed.... or at least until I get a guarantee from Apple that it will be replaced if and when it does bend... and each time it does bend, if it happens continuously, with no limit to the # of replacements.
if it is a thin-ness issue... then they should have not made the phone so thin... yea everyone wants a thinner phone and that is the design goal.... but you can't sacrifice the ability for a phone to hold its shape just to make it 1 or 2mm thinner... I would rather it be a few MM thicker and be able to carry it around like every single other iPhone and other brand smart phones.
I feel bad for Apple, they have sold 14+ million already, what are they going to do?... but I also am in absolute shock that they made it to the market like this... if they did any minimal testing, they would have seen this.. or if they had just a few beta testers, they would have noticed the problem very quickly... It doesn't make any sense to me... Apple builds the highest quality electronics and then BAM, this huge huge huge screw up.
Please address this Apple, I am waiting to hear what is going to be done before I buy them for my family.

Yes, in fact people have been reporting phones bending under signifcant stress since at least the iPhone 5, probably earlier. And, there are reports for other makes and models of phones as well.
And this is a user-to-user technical support forum. Apple doesn't respond here.
Perhaps before you post something that is not true, you might do some research:

I also canceled my order last night...
I am going back to samsung note 4
Who cares? I don't think we really care what phone you use.......
because of this problem Apple has to loose millions of dollar business i think...i already canceled my order..
Apple has to say something about this issue... why they are silent...its not good for them...they are loosing business everyday since this problem has raised.....

No one here cares what type of phone you use.
Because there isn't anything to say. CNN showed it took quite a bit of effort to bend the iPhone 6/6 Plus, it has been this way since the iPhone 5, it is nothing new and it really isn't newsworthy. Do just a brief search and you can find "evidence" of other smartphones bending (or breaking) even the Samsungs. If the iPhone 6/6 Plus had gone smaller rather than larger it would be less likely to occur. But it could still occur.
Send feedback to Apple and ask them to make a higher-priced titanium or carbon-fiber model available then buy it.
I seriously doubt there have been many order cancellations. I know I'm not going to return mine.

Someone else will snap it up.
Bunk. They can't make them fast enough to keep up with demand.
But since you're not going to own one, it's time for you to join the Samsung Forum. Where you can see there are issues people are writing about it. Good luck with your Samsung.
Might be a decent analogy if I walked around with my cars hood in my pocket. . . .but I don't.
I do remember a while ago, I was in an Apple store and I was getting a replacement 5 via Apple Care because I dropped it in the toilet! (yes, I am a dork)
I was listening to someone next to me with a bent 5. I looked at the woman and she was of very stout nature and was wearing tight jeans. She pulled the phone from her rear pocket talking with her friend regarding the bend phone before the genus helped her. He asked her what the problem was and he did confirm with her that she did not keep the the phone in rear pocket. She said "no." Ahhhh...I have no comment.
I think the 5/5s is a sturdy phone compared to the 6/6+. I think it should be obvious not to store your 6/6+ in your rear pocket or in a front pocket while wearing skinny jeans.
I do not wear skinny jeans or keep my phone in my rear pocket. I am not about to cancel my order because of the thinner phone. I do, however plan on a sturdier case and have to re-think where and how I carry my phone on a day to day basis. Also, Apple Care in a must in my opinion!
