Might be a decent analogy if I walked around with my cars hood in my pocket. . . .but I don't.
I think you may be a bit unclear on the meaning of "analogy".

I do not wear skinny jeans or keep my phone in my rear pocket. I am not about to cancel my order because of the thinner phone. I do, however plan on a sturdier case and have to re-think where and how I carry my phone on a day to day basis. Also, Apple Care in a must in my opinion!
You, friend, sound like a sensible sort!
Imagine that. Someone who is sensible. Amazing.
"I can guess what Steve Jobs would have said - "You're putting it in the wrong pocket""
Yep thats probably what Steve would say! But what the informed customer would do is buy a phone that is safe to carry in the pocket of your choice..
And I have. I chose iPhone 6. You should choose the one you feel is right for you.
I doubt he would have said that at all. He might have looked at the silly press coverage and over-reaction to this and sneeringly referred to it a "bentgate".
But he probably would have just remained above it and not commented at all just like all the previous iPhones that bent or broke in someone's jeans who sat on it or flexed it and popped out/cracked the screen (the is the iPhone 3/3G equivalent to this).
An informed customer can look at the "evidence", decide for themselves, and buy whichever phone they want. If you have one you then return it and get your money back then be an informed customer, do some research, and buy something else.
Nope. Just an excuse to tell someone my story of a not too bright person that shouldn't be putting any phone in her back pocket!
Anyone, by any chance, read the fine print on Apple Care? Does if cover accidental damage including a bent phone?

I did mean "sensible" as a high compliment! But, it's a good story and a nice counterpoint. 🙂
AppleCare+ covers, I believe, 2 incidents of accidental damage. I don't know what the fee is but it's much less than an out-of-warranty replacement.
Thanks.
Maybe the new iPhone will spawn the rebirth of the fanny pack fad??? That would be an excellent place for the phone.
On second thought...nah!!
To this extent... no way.
I know about those, of course.. i said an issue such as this.. not minor ones like the other iPhones. There are no phones that bend this easily I keep my iPhone 5 in my back pocket for past 2 years... no bends.. if did the same with the iPhone 6 plus, it would bend significantly & quickly
is is significant that they are buying different phones... I'm sure they would much rather buy the new iPhone... but with a pretty much guaranteed bending problem, what are they to do....

Um, yes, there are reports of other phones bending "to this extent". But, believe whatever makes you happy.
lol, it just because someone buys the one he cancelled doesn't mean that apple did not just loose $750-950 in gross revenue.... they are still going to sell one less overall.
Do what you want with your property, but it's foolish to me to put an electronic device in your back pocket.
