You mean like they way they released a buggy os or a phone with signal issues. Every company releases less than perfect products, how they react to rectify the issues is more important. Devices are more complex than ever, issues are always going to arise regardless of your extensive testing and beta testing. Pointing then out helps the company to solve them.
Respond to what. . . Does any car manufacture respond to a fender that dents. Metals dent and they bend. Take care of your possessions and you will not have these issues. Pettiness!

i don't know what to say but i know that apple wont make something that ruin its reputation beside apple claims that there was only 9 case of bent iphone 6 plus and it's extremely rare to accidentally bend iphone 6 plus in front pocket and if it's true that iphone 6 plus get bent in front pocket you can use apple cases to protect it just remember its APPLE they will fix it.😉

Would the people who are concerned about the 6+ bending due to all types of pressure sources, please refrain from buying them, so that the other people who do still wish to buy it won't have to wait too long? Thanks!
In the video where the guy bends the 6+ using deliberate force, and he tried the (apparent) same force on the other large smart phones that didn't bend. Well, those phones are not as slim. This only showed that the 6+ reacted accordingly to physical laws of nature. The other phones that didn't bend were thicker. They too would've succumbed to physical force that exceeds the structural strength for their body size and thickness.

According to consumer reports, 6+ stronger than 6, both stronger than HTC and somewhere in the middle of the phones in "bend" testing. All of the major phones should be fine with normal use which I presume means putting in pockets. Sitting on them is another thing all together.

I agree, it's also weaker than the 5, and this is where part of the problem is.
If I buy my next car I expect it to be more efficient than the last one and that's at the same time as being lighter, faster and bigger and with more features, especially if it's a premium item. I suspect a lot of others are the same.
So what if the new one is still strong enough for 'normal use', (this is down to individuals), it's now perceived as an issue.

Yep, because when you away from the dealer at your local car shop and he says, 'Yes, look at all these new features, Oh and it's significantly weaker than last years model but it's still perfectly safe'. Your going to ignore that completely.

Actually the ISSUE not tested for by Apple OR Consumer Reports is SHEARING FORCE
Shearing forces are unaligned forces pushing one part of a body in one direction, and another part of the body in the opposite direction. Apple and Consumer Reports did not test for SHEARING FORCE, only single point pressure.

Your force diagram is incomplete...
You forget that those two bars on the side produce a normal force (Newton's third law, gravity down, normal back up). With that said, the forces are in the same direction as the forces shown with the guy bending his iPhone: two on the edges facing away from the back with central ones in the middle facing in the opposite direction. Neither picture you draw is sheering force.
An example of a sheering force would be ripping a piece of paper, two fingers adjacent to one another pushing in opposite directions to rip the paper apart.
I've no clue what the blue polygonal outlines mean as they are going in opposite directions (one "points" away from the back while the other "points" towards it).
