Did anyone read the comments from the T-Mobile CEO John Legere regarding bendgate? He said and I quote:
"That is such horseshit," he said. "Listen, what the f**k did you need to see? The video of the guy that's doing this, and if you could have seen his face he probably would have been purple and the veins are coming out of his fingers. And the thing moves a little bit? Are you ******** me?"
"Let me help you about bendgate or whatever it was. It's not slowing down demand. The demand for these devices in the last few weeks is unbelievable."
- John Legere, CEO T-Mobile
I couldn't have said it better myself & I wholeheartedly agree! Btw, how do we know or not if that guy who started "bendgate" wasn't paid by Samsung? Hmm...
I don't have a clue as to exactly what a "shearing force" is, but I think what the diagram is showing is a situation such as if you put your thumbs in the middle on one side pushing up, and your fingers grabbing at both ends pushing down on the ends like you wanted to snap it in two. But really the claims have been magnified and people have to realize that these new phones, especially the 6+ are much bigger phones. It seems it would call for a little common sense when sitting down with one in your pocket especially if its tight. I think peoples seem to expect some kind of indestructible phone. Kinda silly and unreasonable, But then people do get passionate about their devices.
Why is this being talked about still? Clearly all of this is going against the terms and conditions of even posting on this forum because its not technical support and certainly not constructive feedback on a topic. SPECIFICALLY:
Stay on topic. Apple Support Communities is here to help people use Apple products and technologies more effectively. Unless otherwise noted, do not add Submissions about nontechnical topics.
- Which you all are basically doing. But wait, I forgot NO ONE reads the terms and conditions.....
Do your own research, every phone bends with enough force to it. Do yourselves a favor, and educate yourselves: http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/26/consumer-reports-iphone6-bend-test/
Now, Im going to suggest that apple take down this post as its completely pointless and a waste of everyones time. Post real questions in the forum or don't post at all.
The video I posted was from consumer reports. Just an FYI
Links?
Thanks

So far, you've been lucky. Give it time. Your phone will bend too.
Yes. So far 9 out of 15 million have been reported. Quite an epidemic.

I guess me and my partner, all five people in my office and everyone else I know who have iPhone 6 which aren't bent, are just "lucky" right? You're assertion all will bend is really absurd.
It shouldn't need to be said, but really people who buy iPhones should just hang them on their wall, and look at them. That way they don't have to worry about the phone bending or getting damaged.
Well except the new phones are much bigger, especially the 6+ and thinner, I would expect that would tend to be a little weaker, but they are not weak. Really, the first reports sounded alarming, but as it turns out it seems out of millions of phones bought, the problem seems to involve about 10 phones. Is this really a problem?
Well thanks for that advice, but I'll be using mine for the next couple years and I have absolutely no fear of my phone bending.
I have followed this issue from the beginning and found lots of people whose iPhone 6 Pluses have bent even though they took good care of them.
I have a background in mechanical engineering. Based on changes Apple made to the iPhone 6 Plus, I believe a large percentage of them will develop some curvature over the course of the next six months.
If you knew anything about quality control, you would know there is very little you can say about a product line if you only sample ten units, and the units you selected have not been randomly selected from the product line.
More than 100 people have had problems with their iPhone 6 Plus in less than four days of light use. I predict most of these phones will develop some curvature in the next six months.
You are naive and gullible.
