iPad Air since iOS 8: Apps not updating and downloading no longer possible. Fix?

This problem only really started in the past couple days. I can no longer update apps, cannot download books from the store in the books app and cannot download newspapers in my newsstand. Also, my Adobe reader for iPad open but shows a blank page for 15 seconds before closing and returning to my iPad home screen.

Previous to this, the first few days of iOS 8 did not give me problems, though I had not yet tested all of the above items but apps updated easily for first few days (until 22 sept). Is there a fix?

(A) Try reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

(B) Try reset all settings

Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

Ipad Air running 8.02. Tried resetting, not restoring from backup, hard resets etc... the problem came back again and again after all those short term fixes. Even impacted Evernote from launching properly.

deleting all newsstand subscriptions (pcmag and wsj) as recommended this morning seems to have resolved my issues. I have been successfully running Evernote and downloading other apps for over 8 hours....woo hoo!

thanks for the suggestions folks, happy to have my iPad working again.

I just found out, too, that I cannot download anything. I just get the "waiting" message, but nothing is working. I cannot update to 8.02 either. Every time I try, I get the message "An error occurred while checking for a software update."

This is tremendously frustrating. Apple has to fix this, pronto, or give us all some money!

Deleted WSJ app and that seemed to do the trick. Amazing that this was the issue. The WSJ app is such garbage. For the amount they charge each month they should have a kickass app. For years it has been buggy. Also never auto downloads at night so I'm constantly burning through data to pull down an issue on my commute to work. When they redeigned the app a week or so ago it took some getting used to the flow but seemed more stable. I really do rely on the content so need to figure out what to do.

Third wipe and restore last night. Has been working since. longest period of time, so I think it's fixed. Probably nothing I did fixed it, rather something was fixed on Apple's end. i was WSJ subscriber, but I had deleted and restored that app the previous two restores and the problem reoccurred. Hope it's fixed for everyone.

I Will not be upgrading to anymore dot zero iOS releases.
