iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

I'm just getting on the post trail. I have an Iphone 6 and tried to pair with my BMW 750i. Pairing works....But when trying to place a call....the phone ring twice and drop the call. If I try to dial from phone, the car don't pick up. I have upgraded to iOS8.02 and I have tried to unpaired an re-pair the phone (like other posting here recommended)...no solution. Nonetheless to say I'm *** off like anyone whom trust Apple would be....use to be a good company releasing reliable products. Feel like windows now.

Lets wait an pray for a fix that is all we have now.... :-)

This has worked for me thanks to an earlier post on here - go into Bluetooth on your phone and click on your cars connection name and select forget this device, then switch your phone off then back on again or do a hard re-set, either will do. Then go to your car and select restore factory settings on your stereo settings, then when it's re-set to factory settings turn the car off then back on again.....now both devices are cleared and ready to go from fresh. Then pair your phone to your car as you normally would and it should be working 🙂 So far so good mines been working all day, even after switching my car and phone completely off its still working 100%. Hope it works for you 🙂

But roll on 20th Oct for the update so all the bugs can be fixed.

I am also having connectivity issues with my iPhone 6 that I didn't have with my iPhone 5S on my 2014 Mercedes GLA. Up until today I was able to connect to my car & I can make calls using the car functions but I am unable to cancel the call without physically turning it off by hand on my phone. However today it kept connecting, then instantly dropping the connection then trying to connect again....quite frustrating as I couldn't even listen to the radio so I just ended up turning Bluetooth off

I hope that there is a fix to this very soon !!!

I have the same issue, my iPhone 6 will no longer hold a connection to either of the cars Bluetooth handsfree since updating to 8.0.2 however my Partners iPhone 6 ( which is still on 8.0) connnects and holds connection without issue. This has to be a bug in 8.0.2 and hopefully after looking at all the reported issues on the web Apple will release a fix soon.

I have raised a complaint with apple - maybe if everyone does this they will get their finger out!

Same issue. I have an iPhone 5S and Land Rover Discovery 4. Connection worked fine before the iOS 8 upgrade....now it will sync my contacts and call register etc but not actually make or receive a call despite being 'connected'.

I have rebooted the phone and deleted and reinstalled the pairing....very frustrating and hope the 20th Oct update fixes it or the phone is toast.

I saw this mentioned somewhere either on this thread or elsewhere. This fix worked for me just fine and continues to do so.

Using iPhone 6 on 8.0.2

In your bluetooth settings for your vehicle pairing, uncheck Sync Contacts.

Have had no issues after reboots of phone or car restarts in a couple days. Also had no need to reset settings or re-pair my phone in order to make it work.

"In your bluetooth settings for your vehicle pairing, uncheck Sync Contacts."

This FIXED the issue for me! Hopefully the problem is solved. 2009 Chevy Suburban would pair with iphone 6 but calling would not be audible. I turned off Sync Contacts under the bluetooth settings and the call went through just fine. Worked perfectly as it did before the new iOS 8 update/fiasco/disaster. I didn't even have to delete the phone, forget the device or reset the phone. Thanks for the fix!

Good God people...why is disabling a function that is SUPPOSED TO WORK a "fix"? Contact Sync is SUPPOSED TO WORK, and not have to disable it to get my phone to work right?!?!

My iPhone 5S has had bluetooth issues with my Dodge UConnect in the last two vehicles which are different O/S altogether! 2012 Charger and my brand new 2014 Durango. Both cars will simply disconnect the BT connection randomly, like the phone went into airplane mode by itself, or that I hit the "transfer" button to go to phone only, when I did nothing of the sort. Sometimes I can get it to "transfer" back by hitting the settings button and selecting my iphone again from the radio screen, but other times I have to shut my car and bluetooth off on my phone completely to get it to work properly again. IMHO Apple's bluetooth protocols suck a big one, I haven't had this amount of troubles when I had blackberrys, now it seems I'm stuck with sub-standard bluetooth connectivity with IOS. APPLE, get a grip and fix this crap!

😕 yes...I have to take a breath because I work out of my car and this is a daily and MAJOR issue for me. I'm talking to customers and in the middle of a call I drop out of audio and I cannot hear them either (phone in earpiece mode). I will give the turn off contact sync "temporary" solution a try and report back. But I am competely frustrated with Apple. If I didn't pay so much for this phone and also have an iPad, I would have switched to Droid a long time ago. 😟
