iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

I didn't have any trouble using my iPhone 5 w/ iOS 7 in my NISSAN ROGUE, that was UNTIL I foolishly upgraded my Apple device firmware to iOS 8; now, EVEN with the latest update 8.0.2 installed, although the phone itself seems a bit more fluid overall my bluetooth connexion in the car still WON'T WORK AT ALL!!! The phone recognizes the car alright, but the drudgery persists: 1) any freehand conversation goes back to in-phone mode almost instantly; 2) the hang-up button on the steering wheel won't do its job on the phone side anymore; 3) I keep receiving ghost phone calls whenever I renew my bluetooth connexion btw the phone and car...

Almost had a fatal car accident the other day, due tosuch major distraction, What has become of you Apple!? If you want your expensive toys to do everything, please manage to make them perform as they should!

VERY, VERY DISGRUNTLING, TO SAY THE LEAST...

I Too am fed up with Apple support! I have never had a problem fixed. The customer service and treatment is horrible and has gotten worse. I have also been a loyal customer for a very long time and am thinking about returning my device for a galaxy. I have battery drainage and several other issues. Set up took a really long time with major issues even with hours of phone time with support. Nothing was resolved. I hung up and started from scratch. What is the point of all of the new, great stuff if you can't use it due to glitches or having to turn it off to save battery life. They are getting it wrong!

Big time problems here.

Both my car(at this point it is not necessary to share what car you drive) and my LG Tone headset. Both were OK for the 2 days I had the 6 prior to 8.0.2 upgrade last night. Now both completely unusable even after repairing. LG Tone keeps saying "Call ended" over and over again until I turn it off or disable bluetooth. My car does something similar basically starting a call and ending it over and over again. This activity also happened to kill my battery today, drained to 1% in 6 hours with very little other usage.

I had assumed that 8.0.2 was going to be OK after the 8.0.1 fiasco, but sadly no. I usually wait longer to upgrade and I've learned my lesson now.

And let me preemptively say to anyone else tempted to chime in and say "mine's working there is no problem", don't you have better things to do with your time than go comment on threads regarding problems you are not having?

tried both reset, but did not working.

then i have done a restore of the phone, setup as new iphone, connected to both cars before putting any data in the phone, and it WORKS. tried to sync and restarted the iPhone 3-4 time, still working.

i have noticed before the restore that in the bluethoot menu there was a connection with my ipad, but i didn't have done it myself and was not able to delete it, even when trying to connect the ipad. so check if you have some ghost connection in the bluethoot menu.

I have the 6 plus, ios 8.0.2 update, ATT. This morning my husband got a phone call and both our phones rang. We both share an apple id. I called apple help to see if I could get it resolved. She told me that I could do 1 of 2 things: go to settings, facetime, and turn off the cellular. This will disable the feature to make phone calls from your ipad. OR I could create a separate apple ID for my husband. Since I want to continue making phone calls with my ipad I chose to create a new apple ID for my husband.

I went back to the dealer to have them check out my blue tooth again to see if firmware needed to be uploaded. It was not a firmware issue. After just un-pairing the phone to the vehicle and re-connecting it, it started working again. I was able to make and receive calls normally. I believe it's because the car Bluetooth doesn't know which number to call from since both phones are connected via facetime. It confuses the car Bluetooth somehow with this new ios 8.0.2 update.

If you are unable to make or receive phone calls via your Bluetooth and you share an apple ID with a family member, you may want to consider creating another apple ID for your family member. If you want to continue to be able to find your family's iphone via "find my iphone app" and make purchases using the same account you can still do this by adding your family member to "family share" under icloud settings.

After separating apple ID's, my issue was resolved. Hope this helps.

Glad that worked for you. I had already planned to try a restore tonight when I get home. Sounds like that should do the trick.

There is something else weird that is related I'm sure. When I swipe up to Control Center, where airdrop and airplay show, it flickers back and forth every second with airplay disappearing and reappearing and the volume changing. And this happens even with both bluetooth and wifi disabled.I think this is the behavior that has been killing my battery all day. It dropped about 10% in less than 30 minutes with BT and wifi disabled and very little usage.

FYI - no shared appleid here.
