After getting the iphone 6, incoming calls simultaneously ring on my kids' phones that are also on my account. How do I stop this from happening?

Then the caller probably placed a FaceTime Audio call, not a regular phone call.
Are you positive the device in question is running iOS 7? Settings > General > About > Version.
I had the same problem with my kids phone, since we are using the same AppleID for iCloud on both devices. You can change AppleID on each phone to eliminate this problem. Or...
Go to Settings > FaceTime, Turn off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
This allows all other app functions to work on each person's phone (i.e. FaceTime, Handoff, etc.).
Hope this helps others.
Yes, absolutely sure one is running iOS 7 and the other iOS 8.x.
I'm doing some additional testing. FaceTime isnt setup on either device ...
Go to Settings>facetime> untick iPhone cellular calls.
You're welcome.
I Just gave my daughter her own Apple ID but I manage the password and account. That way there's no possibility of altering data on each device.
I finally got the issue resolved.... On the iOS7 device I deleted the devices iCloud backup, turned off iMessage and FaceTime, turned on the iCloud backup, forced a backup, wiped device, restored from backup....issue is gone.
An important question for using this facility
i have 2 different sims from 2 countries will it be roaming free if I answered the call from the country I am in or not
i.e. answering from any device other than the one been called is chargeable or not?
at least we get benifet of 3 or 4 devices ringing
same problem. iPhone 5 with ios8 is my old contract phone with two more months to run. New phone is 6 plus with a different network. If my new phone rings, my old phone does too. Texts to new phone also go to old. Apple couldn't help. Each phone is set to receive and send only to that phone. Email address is unticked. I have to keep old number for a while as I do still get calls on it. So sick of all the problems lately!
Any more suggestions?
When features become problems it's time for Apple to rethink how it deploys new features.
This multi-phone capability gives you the ability to use multiple phones as "extensions" on one or more numbers to give you a functional model matching that of the old landline based phone service. You can answer your calls in any room with a phone nearby. You can support multiple numbers on the same handset. We used to share the phone in the old days, remember?
The intention of the feature was to allow access to phone calls on the computer or iPad. Not so much for "extension" phones.
Apple is a marketing machine. Let's not confuse how Apple markets the technology and what the technology actually does. It is apparent that giving customers phone extensions to iPads and computers creates more new revenue for Apple than educating it's customers on how the technology supports old iPhones.
thank you!
Oh gee thank you oh great purveyor of information technology. 🙂
What do you do if all of these are turned off and have never been on? All of m devices do this after the IOS 8.2 update. 4 iPhones and 2 iPads.
You have checked that all of them have Cellular Calls turned off? And then reset each one?
Would be a neat trick if you could get phone calls on all devices without using the switches required.
I Fixed it but it was messy. I had to turn facetime on, disable IPhone Cellular Calls, turn FaceTime back off, then reset (yes, reset not restart) each device.
Ughhh. I am tired off Apple insisting to turn on certain features every time I update. 😠
