IOS 8.0.2 wifi issues

Hi, I have issues with my new iPhone 6 on IOS 8.0.2

Sometimes I lose wifi connectivity and disable / enable the wifi on Settings is not enough... only chance is to reboot the phone.

I Have had this issue for the past two weeks now since updating my 4s to 8.0.2. I have even phoned Apple about the issue and followed every step they recommended without success, including restarting, restoring network data, fully restoring to factory settings Etc, plus simple things like switching on and off aeroplane mode. I've been an Apple customer for about 7 years now, so I am quite dissapointed with the lack of communication, and progress information about this issue which clearly a lot of people have.

Upon what are you basing this opinion?

The phone is designed to drop the wifi connection if it becomes too weak and switch to cellular data. Could it be that many here are straying too far from a good wifi signal such that the wifi connection is being dropped? Perhaps with the 8.0 upgrade the threshold for dropping wifi over cellular was set too low which could account for many of these dropping issues. Perhaps once the signal has been found to be too weak, the phone isn't reconnecting automatically as you near the router again and the signal improves.

DEar Richard, that is not the case.

THe problem occurs even if one is sitting next to the router with full signal.

In most cases the connection theoretically remains (as shown on the status bar) but just doesnt work.

Ive personally tried all these possible reasons. Just no permanent solution at the time.

Its clearly a bug of some sort and we are all waiting for the "enlightenment" of the gentlemen at Apple!!!

Agreed. Somehow in iOS it might be acting as if the signal is weak and getting hung up, but it is not DUE to the signal really being weak. This happens when signal is strong and within several feet of access point. Signal strength on the device shows full bars and that does not fluctuate between wi-fi and LTE. The wi-fi connection just stalls and becomes unresponsive. If you're in the browser, the loading bar just stops moving. The browser becomes unresponsive...you can't refresh, links that have been loaded don't work etc. If you're in something like facebook, pictures remain blank, links don't work etc and you're stuck in a partially loaded page. If you're in apps or some games, it will either freeze or you'll get a message saying network connection is lost. If you're in email, it gets stuck updating the mailbox, or tells you your login credentials are bad.
