Sometimes I lose wifi connectivity and disable / enable the wifi on Settings is not enough... only chance is to reboot the phone.

Same issue, same device.
Thank you. But please tell me everyone here having this issue has already tried this. This would have been step 1 in troubleshooting a wifi issue.
Yeeeeeep.
Tried it ofcourse.
No luck.
Any fix that may come from this is circumstantial and temporary.
The **** problem doesnt go away.
Maybe Android could be a good fix 🙂
The much coveted Sony Z3 is coming in October to Verizon 😮
LOoks good but at that size, the Note 4 has no opponent.
A true beast!
i highly doubt this is a hardware problem. It's happening on an iPad air, iphone 6 and iPhone 5s. The only common thread is they are all on 8.0.2.
Seems like Apple doesn't give a f... about it's customers. By now they should have let us know what's the problem and how/when it's going to be fixed!
I have followed various forums regarding the problems caused by ios8.0 and have tried various "fixes like network reset and turning off location services wi-fi networking and none worked.
My major difficulty was with the wi-fi access locking out until I rest the my ipad.I have resolved this by disabling the 5mghz signal on my router and wi-fi now works. It now utilizes the 2.5mghz band.
I still have the problem of safari and other apps freezing but I can live with that until Apple take their head out of the sand and address the problem.
Hope this temporary fix works for others.
Solution: after trying all things suggested for me was this:
- change your wifi ssid name and the password to wpa2 of the wifi router then relog to the new wifi name and works fine
it seems that something wrong stays in memory even if you reset wifi network
Try to use easy short ssid wifi names without special keys like - _
I must say that mine has been on WPA2 all along and I haven't had any wifi dropping or slowdown issues. Perhaps this is why. My problem is connecting to various routers when out. I can't ask everyone to please change their router because I have a new iPhone 6 and it's technically challenged. These are places I previously had no problems joining with my 4S.
Same device same problem!
I found resetting network connections it works fine again for a couple days. But also when I lose the Wi-Fi I also noticed that when I plug it into iTunes on my Mac Pro. My iPhone asked to be trusted with the computer. Also I named my iPhone Rogers iPhone 6 when I reconnect to synchronize and back up it shows my name now as being iPhone and I have to re-name phone again.
Also I don't know if it's related but the notifications under messages I set to never repeat alert but still alerts me two times even going back into message notifications it still shows never repeat but it's still repeating twice. I'm sure Apple will find a fix but aggravating till they do its still a very nice phone and has great features just has a couple bugs...
Same problem. iPad mini with retina can not connect Wifi. Can't believe this is the third update of IOS 8!
I'm sure it's not an iphone 6 problem!
I Have an iphone 5 and have never had wifi issues. Only now after iOS 8.
I also have a ipad mini retina but I still have iOS 7 in it with zero wifi problems.
If you work also in the router and set ACL Mac address of your iphone it can help.
It seems that ios 8 don't comminicat the iphone name to the router then hangs waiting for the iP.
But also dns problems occasionaly and static ip or Google dns was helping but then it get worse till it become unable to join the wifi network.
As I said my solution was changing the SSID wifi network name avoiding special characters like -_
and swap from wpa to wpa2 then rejoin all home devices to the network.
I tried this fix but it didn't work for me and how are we supposed to change the router settings if we use a public wifi? Has anyone tried the 8.1 beta 2?

Hi All
I'm a new apple user , got myself a IPhone 5s and a iPad air about two months ago, was happy with the experience for a while then I updated my iPhone to 8.0.2 yesterday, since then Wi-Fi on my iPhone doesn't work, it keeps on dropping no such issues with my iPad since I didn't update it, As a new user I'm very disappointed with apple, Hope they fix this software issue soon, I'm seriously thinking about switching to Windows again
You know what rogergee said is right for me too. my iphone 6 has this wifi problem. AND it keeps getting renamed to "iphone" and asks to trust my desktop every time. This may be related.
