Same issue, same device.
Same issue here. iOS 8.1 can't come fast enough!
DDid you try changing the DNS to manual on the wifi modem? I'm using GoogleDNS settings now. 8.8.8.8 primary and 8.8.8.4 secondary.
GOve or it a try- NOTHING ELSE WORKED FOR ME
If it works then it's not Apple's fault, if not…😉
We have four i-Devices.
Three now have been updated with 8.02.
One 5 and one iPAd work fine
My wife's 5 will NOT work with wifi
Her iPAD on iOS7 is working just fine, no issues.
Every other device in the house ( Nest, two PC's, three wifi security camera and our other i-Devices
work fine.
For a while, until I read some of the chatter on this blog, her 5 would not accept
the wifi password. There was a suggestion to turn off cellular data and back on again.
That worked and the wifi connected, but is still unusable
Apple, when is the next update to fix the 8.02 wifi issues so widely discussed through out the blog
Hi,
This fix may work but how are we supposed to change settings if you are using a different wifi, say a public wifi?
Sent from my iPhone
In reply to the post by Thanuja2 of course it is the fault of Apple if all was ok with IOS 7 and you need to change the router settings on a hit or miss basis.
The responsibility is squarely in their corner..
iPhone 6 w/wifi issues as well. my iPhone 5 on the same wifi network works perfectly and consistently.

Just a quick snapshot of my chain of events. I’m currently on my fourth iPhone 6 Plus 64GB here in London, UK. Every time I have spoken to AppleCare and told them that I have gone through all the Wi-Fi troubleshooting methods possible they have asked me to get a brand new retail replacement as I’m within my 14 day return period. I’ve been experiencing the following issues:
I spoke to AppleCare again yesterday and asked for their advice as its now my fourth iPhone in just under a month. This time they said that apple were fully aware of the Wi-Fi problem and that new repair tickets were not being raised for their engineers as they are already working hard to get this resolved. They also said they could see all the issues raised on the apple discussions boards which they usually don’t admit too! I asked what to do next and the advisor apologised and said this is clearly a software glitch and will be resolved in the next update. I asked for a timescale but unfortunately none was given.
As stated above I have tried all the troubleshooting methods discussed on forums and on tech websites but the only thing that gives me a stable connection without any disconnects (especially on my 6 plus) is turning cellular/mobile data off when I know I’m going to be on Wi-Fi for a sustained period of time (e.g. at home or work). I appreciate this is annoying but it’s the best temp fix until an update comes out.
Hope it helps everyone who is having issues with their devices that have cellular functionality.
Any comments welcome
After much frustration and despair, I'm finally happy because I solved my problem.
I sold my iPhone and got a Galaxy Note and this thing is beautiful! It can do practically anything!!!
No wifi issues, no storage issues and no more kissing apple's @ss just to make what I (over) paid for, work properly!
Free at laaaaaaaaaast!!!!!!!!
Excellent post and great summary of the issues. I have experienced a few of those exactly as you describe. I guess it's a waiting game now.
Thanks for the insight to what's going on internally in regards to this issue.
@Gus in 4 years of iPhone use this is the first time I've gone to a trouble shooting forum-- skinned android and a stylus seems like a bit drastic of a solution to a temporary problem.
My friend, I will not go into the android-ios talk because there is no ending to that talk but 4 years as you said, it appears I was missing out on a looooot of things.
Skinned or not makes no difference to me.
I judge from what I can accomplish with a device and of course at what cost. Right now I have 32gb+128gb at lower cost and as far as the stylus, it does have MANY practical uses for those that don't only play angry birds on their phones. Nfc is not locked, bluetooth is not locked, IR blaster is there if needed and the other thing I noticed is that many apps and games come cheaper on Google play store and many have the choice of being free with ads apart from the paid version.
I could go on much longer but it wouldn't be right in here.
Just try to keep an open mind and see what others are offering without being fanatic about brands.
We are the ones that make them billionares.
Getting more for what we (over) pay should be our demand or else they won't give a **** about true progress as long as we blindly give them our money.
I truly hope 8.1 fixes everything soon.
WiFi is painfully sloooooooow on my iPhone 5 to. A reboot helps for some time, though, but it should not be necessary to reboot daily in order to survive with a defect IOS code.
Same here, iPhone 6, iOs 8.0.2.
WIFI constantly looses connection and is unable to be reestablished unless I reboot the device. Hope they will fix this ASAP!
I went to the Apple Store today to meet with a Genius.
He ran diagnostics on my phone and the HW was fine. It did show dozens of app crashes. He thinks that starting over and setting up the phone as a "new phone" instead of restoring from backup would fix the issue with Wifi dropping.
I am going to wait for iOS 8.1 before I try that and hope that fixes it first.

Do these Apple support people not read the forums. What he has told you has been tried before and does not work.
The issue is for them in their ivory tower in Cupertino to resolve
