IOS 8.0.2 wifi issues

Hi, I have issues with my new iPhone 6 on IOS 8.0.2

Sometimes I lose wifi connectivity and disable / enable the wifi on Settings is not enough... only chance is to reboot the phone.

I certainly agree with submitting a report and calling Apple for resolve. On the contrary, Apple does monitor these discussions. My nephew works at the Genius Bar. They get a report of these discussion issues daily and are briefed on fixes related to major issues seen here. My WiFi does not drop and never has on my new 6 running 8.0.2. and there are apparently an awful lot of people who don't have the issue when you consider the millions. But it has made the news repeatedly. He hasn't personally seen any. That's not to say it isn't quite real for many. Report it by calling Apple support. Personally, I can't help thinking it's related somehow to the higher speed routers or router brands or router settings, given the degree of intermittency. While I don't drop connections, I HAVE found that some routers will not connect at all anymore while out and about at places where there was no issue before.

Setting - cellular - cellular data network - reset settings

this is what i did:

replace sim card with other different provider and check if the cellular data network setting changed compare to your current provider's setting

then reset the setting

then replace back ur original sim card and check if the settings are correct (mine was auto complete)

so far no hickups on my wifi

still need more time for testing

o ya i revert back to ios 8 from 802, 12 hrs ago

NOw is still fine

hope this helps

It's actually getting worse!!! Today I am now experiencing what others have reported, but hadn't seen up to now. ZERO access points show up in wifi (I can normally see about a dozen or so from the office). When they do show up, the secure connections are extremely unreliable, dropping more frequently than before. Unsecured networks are nearly as bad. Iphone 6 suffers the most. iPad Air and iPhone 5s, all with 8.0.2 are not much better.

iphone 6 with 8.0 does not have this problem. Not even a word from Apple. This is pathetic.

My new iPhone 6 had this problem then it eventually became worse and worse. Eventually could not get any wifi, then wifi was grayed out and could not even turn on. At the end the phone would completely freeze. Could not even restart it.

Called it quits at that time and took it in to the Apple Store. They replaced it in under 5 minutes. Sounded like a problem they have seen before:(

Thanks for giving us the scoop, Richard. It is good to know that Apple does monitor these (and all) discussions. Since disabling cellular data fixes the problem for me, I'm convinced that the 8.0.2 implemented some kind of scanning every few seconds for the strongest internet signal and switches to that signal. I came to that conclusion also because whenever my iPhone would switch to 3G, my router speed had also dropped to the point the phone could not detect it at all which had never happened before. Maybe the phone's internet cannot operate now without a certain signal strength but Apple does not want to offer that as the real reason for the problems, just guessing here. Although it is a nice idea that the phone look for the strongest signal, in practice I prefer being able to lock in my signal because of data charges from my cell provider. We should have the option of reverting back to the previous iOS.
