You can repeat that as often as you like. It won't change anything. Call Apple and plead your case to them. Politely.

I replaced back the original Home Button assembly onto the new display assembly but I can't get rid of "Error 53".

Has anyone got evidence that, once Error 53 has been set due to the assembly of an unpaired Touch ID button, putting back the original button recovers the phone from such error?

Methinks that if the issue was that a user had their Apple Pay data compromised because this sort of device protection had a workaround, there would be an uproar about Apple's lack of security.

It would seem to be an effective way to prevent a user from putting "their" fingerprint data in to "your" phone to access "your" data.

I am having the same problem and have tried all the above steps as well.

Guys issue is in provider. Try another network!!!

What i mean is Uninstall antivirus from your PC/Mac.

Even i do not have any antivirus for iphone 😉

Well I'm just gonna go with my iPhone is completely shot.

But I definitely think that it has to be a touch ID problem.

Why don't you do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple instead?

I brought it to them within warrantyand told them that I had replaced the screen They would do nothing for me. If they would fix it for a normal fee I would pay it

Now is stucked in recovery mode. I tried in 2957485755 different computers Windows 7, Windows 8 , Windows 8.1 Pro, Mac. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with iphone 6+ and it *****... only used this phone for less then 2 months and apple has no fix... have tried several things, including different notebooks, called apple, the apple service store is helpless and they wont even replace the phone.... 😟

In order to remove this (if you're using a windows computer), go to command prompt on your computer and type in "netsh winsock reset" and press enter. After that reset your computer and the issue should be resolved. You should be able to restore your device successfully.

Same issue here! & more unacceptable is that they refuse to replace the phone saying it has been modified inside, which didn't happen during the period when I have it.

I bought the phone online a month ago on June 2 and picked up on June 3rd.

From the day 1, I couldn't update IOS. I tried it from my phone.

I kept trying to update but it always fails in the middle even when it was full battery. But it was fine to use.

Today, since IOS 8.4 was released, so I tried to update again, but this time from I-tunes on my computer.

Then it failed again in the middle with the error 53 notice. My screen turned black & it only show

it needs to connect iTune.

I tried to restore on I-tunes & it failed.

So I brought it to the same Apple Store in Soho where I got it from,

& they told me this I-phone has been modified which I did not.

They told me they cannot do anything about it since it's modified.

They told me there is no way to prove it that I didn't modify it & cannot do any support from them,

that's ridiculous! I brought the phone back exact as the one they gave me one month ago, if anyone could have modified the phone, it could only be done before I got it. The only thing I can do right now is to mail it back to Apple for a 2nd opinion check. But if the phone is really like what they say it is, they still won't do anything for it. And that just means I wasted $700 for Apple's fault.

This is so UNFAIR!!!
