My iPhone 5 keeps on asking for activation....

All the time it does this, and it's searching for service the whole time and all of a sudden the Apple logo appears and wants to be activated and I've activated it lots of times, but keeps on coming. Is is because i'm running iOS 8.0.2?!! Sick of this, HELP!!! 😟

An iPhone ASP is an Apple Authorised iPhone Service Provider ,an ASP but ALSO authorised for iPhones

Since The service in SA is Carried out by the Carriers

The carrier, not Apple, provides technical support for iPhone in this region.

You have allowed an unauthorised UNTRAINED servicer to open the iPhone

iPhones are NOT repaired they are exchanged for a Out of Warranty exchange unit ,the give away in your post

Nothing anyone here can do to help since they likely broke something

Since Vodacom - my cellphone service provider, has no idea what the problem is - I went to them first. I suspect it is IOS8 as the problems have been ongoing since October 2014, Since Vodacom would not help, I went to the official Apple store for help. If they are not authorized to assist then I don't know who is. I never had problems with my iPhone 4 and looked forward to upgrading to the 5. I do not like the size of the 6. Maybe Apple has built in obsolescence as this is not helping me solve my problem - I have backed up and erased the phone and restored and the problem is ongoing

By the way the person at the iStore did not open the phone - he just did what I have done - erased and told me to restore when I got home with my back up from my Mac. The phone is now 2 years old

my brother has an iPhone 5 with ios 8 he has no problems, I hope there will be a fix soon, it randomly searches for network than crashes in to apple logo asking for activation, the last time a restored I didn't even log in to my icloud or apple id just to see what happens, but same issue, if im not connected to wifi to activate than I can't use my iPhone. Hope there will be a fix with the next ios update.

same here - you've described exactly what happens with me - what network are you on. is your brother on another network? I was told that if the wifi reception drops whilst the update is getting downloaded this could be the problem so I went to the Apple store but the problem persists and now someone on this forum said that my back up could be the cause of the problem - I don't know how to fix the back up and neither can I afford to lose the info on the back up.
