Since iOS 8... iPAD 2 slow WiFi, unresponsive taps at times, copy and paste function not working properly, typing is slow, opening and closing apps is SLOW. EVERYTHING WITH IOS 8 IS SLOOOOW

I did not have to restore my ipad2.

Installing iOS 8.1 seems to have resolved all my issues with iOS 8.0 variants (slow, bizarre behavior, unresponsiveness, etc).

I too have regretted updating my ipad2. It worked perfectly well before the upgrade, it is now slow and jerky and my 3g just keeps disappearing completely! Very frustrating. I want to revert to previous status before upgrade. Can I do that?

Had exact same experience. Upgraded 2 days ago. Is anybody aware of a response from Apple yet? My Ipad is completely unusable and would be good to know if this can or will be fixed. Fortunately I have a Windows desktop to function at home but I'm stuck when it comes to travelling.

I'm Simona from Italy, same problem with my ipad 2. Sometimes Safari crash and close the pages, my home wifi is always working to try to do something, Toooooo slow and often freezed. IOS 8 is a ********.

After fighting the slow responses, multiple page reloading in safari, I WENT AHEAD A BIT THE BULLET OF BACKUP/hard reset/restore........and the end result was same crappy performance but now I have to download all of my Kindle books again. It had NO affect on performance and my Ipad2 is just disgusting me. I had no prblems with it or my Mini until the IOS 8 update, now they are just glitchy as heck. Facebook is pretty much unusable as scrolling down on the page very far causes the page to fail and re-load, putting me back at the top. I have a 64 g pad, so it's not a memory storage issue, it clearly is ios 8 & 8.1.

despite the moderators stating that people from Apple don't use these forums, I actually think they do as its a good way of gauging how their customers feel about products and/or upgrades.

its been said before on here that it's pretty poor customer service by apple not to even acknowledge there is a problem with iOS 8 and at least reassure us they are on the case,

that being said can I all urge you to contact apple feed back, the link is posted further up, and let apple know what your problems are and how unhappy you are with the current state of play, they won't then have an excuse to ignore us

my iPad air crashed when updated it took apple support and an iMac to loose everything and start over . Now won't charge and it freezes in safari . I just made an appointment at genius bar for later today . I always thought my iPad was great today i wonder

Doing the back up and then restoring seemed to work ,but it didn't work/fix immediately,but now it seems to be workin fine.

YEs, iOS 8 on iPad 2 is SLOOOW, then buy iPad Air 2 and it's FAAAAST

Ditto, I am also having all these same issues. It is horable I would go back to ios7 if possible. I hope Apple is following these issues, as I am becoming very discouraged. One would think he was using Windows, spending all your time trying to resolve all the issues with no luck. My iPad, and iphone have almost become worthless.

I should have looked at these forums before updating as now my iPad 2 (in PERFECT condition) is now USELESS! It took 23 seconds to just open a folder! Why can't we just go back to iOS 7? Apple, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us go back to iOS 7! What's the big deal?

I have another question. All of the Apple stores that I've been to, even the Flagship one in NYC, appear to use iPad 2's as description devises for the new products (I haven't looked at them close enough to be 100% sure). Did they update these to iOS 8? I doubt it but next time I go in, I'll ask.

Update: I tried the backup/ wipe and restore fix On my ipad2. I think it helped somewhat and is worth doing. My iPad was freezing up before as well as just being slow and clunky. It's still running slow but not freezing up anymore. I didn't think installing 8.01 was any improvement. I still have plenty of space left so that's not the issue, I'm convinced it's the OS.

use it for a few days and then report back, I ALMOST thought maybe mine was better, but it didn't take long to realize it was still reloading and reloading pages, freezing, not clicking links, etc. When all was said and done, I noticed no improvement by wiping it and restoring it, and it was time consuming, a nuisance as I had to re-download kindle books, etc.

SOooooooo Apple any response? As I'm sure you monitor these forums 😠
