Before you tell me to do some "fix"....

YES I am connected to WiFi

YES my internet works perfectly on every other device in my house

YES I have rebooted my router

YES I have tried closing every single app

YES I have rebooted my iPad 2

YES I have turned off my iPad 2 and turned it back on a day later

YES I have upgraded to iOS 8.0.2

YES I have tried a factory restore

YES the problem started immediately after iOS 8 upgrade

*** is wrong with letting me downgrade to 7.1.2. Seriously. iOS 8 is a steaming pile of crap for iPad 2 users. And Apple support blames it on hardware issues of course. So, did thousands of iPad 2 users all just had the same hardware failure at the same time? Just look at the forums and see how many are having the same exact problem. And, if it is just a "select few", then why did all of these posts start AFTER iOS 8?

Even if you try to blame it on hardware, that still has nothing to do with going back to iOS 7.1.2. Every problem started with iOS 8. I had zero problems before iOS 8.

Bottom-line....LET ME GO BACK TO 7.1.2!

unfortunately I belong to this group, we are owners of a great iPad 2 which worked perfectly until iOS 7, and now Apple just decided that we have to trash our iPad 2 an buy a new one.

after updating my to iOS8, even just some magazines i was subscriber, don't work anymore, everything else which still works is so damm slow, that blows out my patience. the battery is gone this weekend, i just save some bucks and pack it on the box. and NO, NO, NO, i will not buy any new one. I am still pretty happy using my Macbook and my iPhone.

just think and rethink, that the posers at Apple with their rich marketing will not blind my eyes. amazing products which are controlled by themselves to cheat us, users and customers that pays their income. sorry Apple for me you have to do better than this.

in this case, if you want to get your face back, just sign back the iOS7 to the iPad2 users, and i will continue an happy iPad2 user.

I came here in the hopes someone had an answer to the lagging/freezing problem since latest update for the iPad2..... as such I should not be surprised to see that yet again a "newer is better" fails without a fix or responce from the company. So for now I will use my pc and await a fix-good luck to everyone-keeping fingers crossed a fix is on the way!

Well, I have the same problems. iPad 2 is terribly slow since IOS 8. Safari stutters and stops or doesn't respond at all, loading pages in Safari takes minutes, Wifi connection drops randomly, the iPad sometimes doesn't respond at all when tapping, and then suddenly comes to life, executing all taps in sequence. Typing something in the search bar in Safari is unbearing slow,

Apple, either fix this asap or allow a downgrade to IOS 7 where everything was fine. This IOS 8 upgrade is just a joke.

Just like all of you, after upgrading to 8.0 then 8.1, my iPad is now barely better than a grilled cheese sandwich. I am heartbroken as it is - uh, was? - the only computing device I had other than my iPhone (which I am using more and more lately instead of my crippled ipad). My husband complained that I was addicted to my iPad so at least he'lol be happy! Can I afford to buy a new iPad? No. But I'm thinking of asking for a new non-Apple device for X-mas. Maybe someone will take pity on me. ****, at this point I'd rather have a Kindle, LOL.

HEllo again, I have deleted most of the apps off my ipad 2, I got some better performance by attaching the ipad 2 to my iMac and using itunes to update the software to the most current version, but sadly while it worked better than it had been, it is really not back to "normal" when it was great. During the ios 7 usage.

i Turned on Settings: Privacy> Diagnostics and Usage> diagnostics and usage Data and found a HUGE amount of crash information.

i Think folks with trouble need to GO TO THE APPLE STORE and get an appointment to see the Genius for support and show their crash issues.

i Have not done so, as I do not have the disposable time to go throguh all that, but I think if you want satisfaction you need to go that route, sadly.

i Think allof us who bought ipad 2 were in reality Beta Testers, we were lucky to have a good experience, but they have moved on to iOs 8 and sales in China, so, I think our experience was unique and may be over, it was fun while it lasted.

good luck everyone, and Thanks to Tony who recommended the fix of using the itunes from a computer to at least get the best of a poor upgrade.

edit: BTW: I just check on Gazelle.com and my 32G ipad2 (wifi only), is worth $95.

Your very welcome rain or shine I'm glad I've been of some help unlike the people at apple or thier stores who just regurgitate the corporate response that its hardware issues etc etc despite being told my iPad was fine up to the ios8 update.

EElaine, if you do decide to sue be sure to post the name of your lawyer so we can all get in touch

I cannot believe the lies that Apple tells their genius bar androids to spread. I visited twice (with great inconvenience) to complain about the same iPad2 issue that is covered in the 5 pages above me, only to be told that there never was and no way possible to take the iPad back to IOS 7.1.2. After not so difficult a research task, it becomes blatantly obvious that Apple is blocking the downgrade with full intent to force iPad2 users to upgrade or turn their hardware choices to a competitor. I have 2 tablet gifts on my Christmas list for family members and unless Apple reinstates the downgrade capability before shopping season ends, I will NOT be buying iPads, I will opt for a less pretentious product. The fact that you program your employees to lie to your customers to try to sweep your design flaws under the carpet...that lacks integrity to the nth degree. If you don't solve the iPad2 user issue soon, you will lose customers in droves. Not a smart way to try to boost unit sales of a declining product!!

GOOD LUCK
