To date, about 4 people have come to the forum to say they bent their phone. If this was such an issue, we'd be seeing waaaaaaay more reports of bent phones. A friend of mine is an Apple Store Genius and he told me (he'd have no reason to not be honest) that in our local Apple Store, not one person has come in with a bent phone. Apple itself has publicly stated (this was about a week ago) that they've received nine complaints.

So, do the math. Apple how has sold at least 60,000,000 phones and the percentage of complaints isn't even statistically relevant. Bottom line, the phone is thinner and is made of aluminum. Any phone made of aluminum, which stressed enough could bend (not just Apple phones). So put it in a case, don't sit on it and be responsible with your device.

And why the **** would anyone in their right mind go on a site and make up a stupid story.

Are you kidding me? Do you how many nonsensical posts are written here every day? Yours is just another example. And it doesn't matter if you're 30 or 80. It doesn't take much to understand an iPhone 6 simply can NOT bend all by itself.

I picked up an iPhone 6 on day one and have been taking impeccable care of it. I kept tabs on the bending issues presented at the end of September and after a month or so thought mine was okay. I just looked this morning and realized there is a bend! And, of course, now I'm stuck waiting for an appointment at an Apple store. Their lack of engineering is wasting my time. Not happy about this. This next replacement will be my 3rd iphone 6 and very possibly my last iPhone ever.

My iPhone 6 bent and broke at the volume control buttons after having it for less than 3 weeks. It will not turn on now. It was in an Otterbox Commuter series and also had a tempered glass screen protector on it. It was also in a purse when it was bent. If you have an iPhone 6, I would at least put it in an Otterbox Defender case or something comparable. The Otterbox Commuter does not offer much stability at the volume control buttons where the iPhone 6 is prone to bend backwards.

Thats unfortunate and extremely inconvenient. I just went through the same issue and had a decent case as well but ultimately the consumer shouldn't feel like an incredibly thick and bulky case is a requirement. The phone clearly has an engineering defect. Yes, many phones bend and break under pressure but this one has shown to be much more susceptible in bending. There are numerous feeds of people complaining on Twitter and, for some reason, Apple only acknowledged 9 people have experienced this. Even multiple tech reviewers have experienced the bend issue with normal everyday use. I guess we can just hope Apple has quietly fixed this flaw.

What "tech reviewer"?

Did you check out the Consumer Reports report on the issue? They found no design flaw.

I'd like to know what "tech reviewer's" as well?? I still find it amazing people come here and claim their phone bent sitting in a purse all by itself. How is that even remotely possible? A purse put over 70 lbs/square inch on a device just sitting there? That's one powerful and strong purse if it did.

A couple tech reviewers from the Verge each individually ran into this issue. I read a few more just before I returned my phone to the Apple Store (because I was worried if my replacement would be susceptible of bending too). obviously the phones don't just magically bend but I've been incredibly careful with mine and with normal use, I still found it bent. Twitter's #bendgate and #oneofnine have quite a few people like you and me that have shared pictures and stories of their bent phones. These are just a few resources of many more.

You're absolutely right. I photoshopped thousands of images and wrote thousands of stories and made up everything. Apple themselves have been keeping track of bent phones returned since their initial statement and have been exchanging under their warranty. Just that alone means Apple is taking responsibility for their product defecting under normal use. There have been thousands bent and thousands replaced by Apple and Apple has protocols to replace the phones. So if you're looking for actual consumers reports, listen to the consumer. Heck, even listen to Apple! They take back your bent iPhones under their own warranty!

Thousands? Really? You can back this up with actual data? And if you can, where did you get the data?

The trouble with the internet is nothing is ever confirmed, most of the "reviewers" aren't, some are even paid by competitors and pictures are repeated over, and over, and over, and over....etc. Apple will replace a phone that appears to have been bent due to a factory defect out of the box. If they receive a phone that has obviously been bent due to excess pressure they will do an out-of-warranty replacement. Sitting on the iPhone and bending it is not normal use and this has happened going back to the iPhone 5. For phones prior to that they broke the screen. You can search and find lots of pictures of bent iPhone 5's. Proves nothing and it was never recalled and rereleased. You can do the same for newer models of the iPhone 5.

By "thousands and thousands" (gee, there is a precise number), do you mean 500,000? 750,000? And where are you getting your numbers? Is Apple supplying them to you? And can you show us a link to this protocol you speak of? Or is this more internet junk?

Check out oneofthenine.com people are posting pics of their bent iphones on this site. Also the site posts everyone on twitter saying their iphone bent. There's about 20-30 people a day saying their phones bent. Imagine how many will bend after a year. There was another tech site that did a pressure test the same way consumer reports did but instead of putting it in the center of the phone they put it in the problem area by the volume buttons and it bent with 40 pounds of pressure! Also they did 10 pounds repeatedly and it bent after a couple hours. Some users reported that their cases bent their iphones. This is keeping me from buying an iphone 6 which is sad cuz i'm a huge apple fan. I'm even thinking of getting a droid now.
