i got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again." when i download OS X Yosemite


i got this message when i downloaded 869.7MB and i can't download more than that


what should i do??

The possible solutions are;


  1. change your DNS through your network settings
  2. change your internet connection
  3. use VPN (abelq mentioned in the previous posts)


If DNS change doesn't work, it means your internet provider is not allowing you to download more than 860MB at once. For instance, your phone's hot spot can limit the max file size for download. As a better solution try to use another internet connection if you have any. If you don't have an alternative connection, use a free or trial VPN service for this download. Therefore, you ISP never gets whether you downloading a file which is large in size.

I am using a MacBook PRO, 15-inch early 2011, 16 Gbyte RAM, Current OS X is 10.9, 299G free disc space. According to Apple this should not be a problem.

I have...

turned off my virus protection

turned off firewall

rebooted - no help

tried a different ISP in another part of the country - no help

As many times as I have tried to download I do not buy the line that traffic to Apple's servers is a problem.
