Calling from Yosemite does not work at all. It attempts a call using iPhone but then it say "Call failed" / "Try Again" Anyone has a cure?

EDIT: Yes I am on WiFi. Both the phone and the computer are on the same WiFi. iPhone is running iOS8...

I have MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012). SMS works. Phone from MacBook also works. Just need to be on the same WiFi as the iPhone.

If the MacBook is connected to ethernet and WiFi and the ethernet, and WiFi are on two different subnets then it will not work.

Handover for iMessage, Mail and Safari works. So does the phone call.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) OS X 10.10 (build 14A389)

iPhone 5s iOS 8.0.2 (build 12A405)

I've been trying to get the calling from my Mac working also, but can't seem to figure it out. The iPhone and Mac are both on the same WiFi network, but nothing happens when I go to my contacts and try to call a non-iPhone user. Also, I tried to use Handoff as well and it didn't seem to work either. I had a Safari page open on my Mac but it didn't show up on my iPhone anywhere. I've got iOS 8.0.2 on the phone, and the Mac is a Mid 2012 Pro non-Retina.

When trying to initiate a call from Yosemite I'm get the following message:

"iPhone Calls Not Available - Your iPhone is not configured to allow calls using your Mac"

I then get "Try Again" and "Cancel" buttons. The message appears as a notification in the top right corner (if that matters).

Anyone seeing this? I have an iPhone 6 with the latest firmware, 8.0.2, but I don't see anything in Settings that would enable/disable this feature.

Here is how I got it to work:

1) Make sure that your iPhone and Mac are on the same subnet (could be on WiFi and ethernet as long as they are on the same subnet)

2) On the iPhone go to Settings / iCloud and make sure you are signed in with same Apple ID to iCloud as on your Mac

3) On your Mac go to Apple / System Preferences / iCloud and make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID as on iPhone

4) On the iPhone go to Settings / FaceTime and enable "iPhone Cellular Calls". On that same screen make sure you are using same Apple ID as in step 2 and 3

5) Restart your iPhone

6) On your Mac go to Apple / System Preferences and double check that under "General" you have "Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices" checked

Make phone call from you Mac. Start iMessage on your Mac and finish it on iPhone, start email on your iPhone finish it on your Mac etc.
