Its most likely to be something you changed in your template.....

So...

Make sure you are checking both Logic's preferences and the Project settings screens for both your template and a blank project.. There has to be some kind of difference you are missing.. something you changed or configured...

Could this have anything to do with the errant (random) Inspector parameters that sometimes happen when loading Logic 9 projects. The Delay parameter was one of the ones that turned wonky.

check inspector settings too..... For your tracks

Just checked both of those again and the inspector settings and everything is how it should be, it happens on all other projects I haven't opened for ages as well even ones that were made from my old auto load template. The only time it doesn't occur is when it's a blank project.

I'm experiencing issues with Logic X. At random intervals, Logic will stop producing any sound.

These is becoming a severe issue and I have no idea why it's happening.

I'm running a 13" mid-2012 MacBook Pro with an i5 and 8G of ram.

These problems have only started after I updated.

I have had some pretty bad issues with the update anyway, such as failing to boot up and the like.

I may just be experiencing driver issues but I don't know.

I might have found the problem.

I got the sound working again.

I was using audio files and so I dragged them into a new project.

The sound was working up until I opened Logic's ES2. At this point the sound for the whole project stopped working.

Even after deleting the track the sound is still broken.

Any ideas?

That is something I have never come across or heard of before..... I cannot think why adding an ES2 track would cause all audio to stop... except if Core Audio got turned off somehow.... (Check audio prefs...) or you accidentally solo'ed a track killing audio for everything else.....

As far as I can see nothing has changed in the settings.

I'll look around some more, but if you think of anything it would be most helpful.

So I just lost about 15 hours of work...

My Logic has been weird after the update, it won't let me save. It won't let me open presets on anything.

If I open an ES2 track it stops all audio. It freaked out and would let me apply fade to anything.

When I bounced to audio it didn't bounce any automation values out.

I'm very unhappy at the moment.

This sound more like a permissions issue.....

Have you tried quitting Logic and then repairing permissions for your system drive via disk utility?

As for the project that's causing you issues...

Use the Selective Track Import feature (STI) to import the tracks from the original project to a new project except the ES2 track.... That should rescue most of your work at least.....

Thanks for the help but It wasn't salvageable.

It's not a question of it saying 'you cant do this'.

It just isn't performing any action at all.

If I click 'save' it won't do anything.

Okay.. so repair permissions with Logic still open....

and then try and save...

Also, have you tried Save As.... and choose a different name/location to save?

or...

Save a copy as....

or even.. create a new Alternative..... and choose that new alternative from the alternative menu option and try and save that...

Finally did you try and relaunch Finder? (Apple menu/Force quit... then select finder in the list that will appear and click relaunch....)

Throwing in my experience with Yosemite/LPX 10.0.7 on a new (2013) Mac Pro. There's a couple of odd behaviors I've found in Logic. First, I can't find any place to call up an Environment window:

Plus it crashes fairly regularly when changing screen sets. Still struggling through this...

Audio interface is UAD Apollo Twin, btw.
