I cannot clear history without clearing cookies with Safari 8.0

I have the new Safari 8.0 with OS X Yosemite. I can not clear history without also clearing cookies. With Maverick it was possible to clear history and keep cookies, not now. This is NOT an improvement! Is there a way to keep cookies and clear history?

this is absolutely the worst period of apple I've ever experienced. and I've worked with them since apple iic.

iOS 8 made my working phone a wreck, and then they take down the option to (downgrade) fix it.

yosemite has left with me a computer that cannot do anything. bluetooth is broken and causes audio delay.

there is constant video delay cause of system wide slow down. my system cache is overflowing constantly

since upgrading, i am continously throwing away trash just to keep the system working.

no mail notifications so i have to leave the mail program open all the time which also causes system slowdown.

this is the worst heap of junk they ever "sold" on us. i had working machines, after i did what they said would be fine i now have 2 piles of wasted money.

Agreed. I've been an Apple customer since the Mac SE.

The quality control is total crap across the board. They have become Microsoft - too big to put out quality stuff.

My iPhone 4 couldn't make calls.

My iPhone 5 can't be held in my hand and still use WiFi. I have to put it down, or get a giant rubber case. The lock button broke on it, which is a highly publicized problem that Apple initially ignored. They told me at the Apple Store that it would be $279 to fix. They finally acknowledged it was a widespread problem and will fix it over a week versus swap it.

White Mac Book from years ago has holes in the case where the plastic broke off from normal use at a house. Not traveling around the world, just using it at the house. Putting your palms at the bottom of the unit while you type activates the mouse pad.

Final Cut Pro X was a horror story. That was alpha software I bought. It's finally a usable application, but still has bugs that have been around forever and never fixed. Still can't do something iMovie can - scroll the timeline as you play.

Apple used to be about quality, which is why I was happy to pay more for it. It "just works", right? Now, I cringe every time I see an update to the Mac OS or iOS or apps of theirs I use.

Oh yeah! I forgot that on iOS 7 on my iPhone, Apple's own iTunes screws up the album artwork that it gets from iTunes on it's own Mac product! Seriously! It's their phone running their OS with their app and it can't work properly. The album artwork for dozens of albums is for the wrong band.

I think I'll use Firefox. This History thing is really, really stupid.

Adding my vote for separating the "Clear History" from the "Clear Cookies and other data" functions. I have had a keyboard shortcut set up for Clear History for years, so it took me about 30 milliseconds to clear it. The new functionality requires me to spend 10-15 seconds to clear history only, and though I've set up the shortcut for the new Yosemite menu item functionality, it clears cookies & data and basically logs me out of everything. Very annoying.

The steps people are saying to go to show history, and then select all and delete does not work. Of course, it looks like it does and you can no longer see any history in the list but you can still click the back button and go through all of the pages that you had visited. Not exactly secure. Also, if you then quit and reopen so you can't hit the back button some of the previous history will just show up in the history list.

i believe that clearing your history will also clear your securing settings (i.e. permissions for java, flash, etc). i agree with the comments of my fellow apple users. apple has botched up seriously at least once with each update. the transition to yosemite has been much smoother. HOWEVER, this ordeal with safari is unacceptable and just plain stupid. my feelings are similar to programs of the former iwork suite. Pages, numbers and keynote have managed to get worse with each update. i am sure that safari will be deleted very soon. it takes too much time to reset my security settings. arrrrrrrgh!

I know, like I said worst ever since 1995. My mail notifications are screwed up. Sometimes it will and sometime it won't. Some names go offline for no reasons and then THE WORST the deleting cookies. I always deleted manually. I had to reset my iCloud id this morning so therefore on my iPad as well as my iPhone. Just makes me sick I ever did this FREE update! Oh, STEVE, why did you leave us so soon?
