How do I disable iPhoto (Yosemite) from automatically launching when I plug in my iPhone?

Had never had this problem with iPhoto, but now that I've updated to OS X Yosemite, iPhoto auto-launches every time I plug in my iPhone and I don't find how to disable it.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), Processor: 2.8 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7

Yeah, "No Application" does nothing. I think doing it in Image Capture works. I love all my Apple products...but I HATE!!!! when any company forces applications to open when I haven't asked it to. I rarely use iPhoto, and NEVER for importing or editing. I will tell an app when I want to use it. Now I have to one by one tell it to stop opening. So not Apple. This sounds like Microsoft at work.

I had the same problem and suggest you do the following:

1. Make sure that iPhoto is set as per the suggestions above.

2. Go to your applications folder and run "Image Capture"

3. Look at the bottom left corner of Image Capture and you will see a little triangle

4. Click on the triangle and it will open a dialog box in which you can select the option to not open any applications when the iPhone is connected.

Thank you. That worked.

For the record: I regret updating to Yosemite as everything is slower and/or a huge pain in the ***. I'm beginning to regret owner a computer as the time spent staring at the rotating rainbow mounts and mounts

Please start a new thread - you problem is in no way related to this thread and threajacking is not only rude but confuses you, the Original Poster and future readers - and in your NEW thread include details like version of iphoto and of the OS, recent changes, exact error messages and what you have done to try to fix this including the results - and eliminate editorial comments and profanity - neither contributes to resolving problems

Read it again again, LN. I said "thank you" for the iPhoto/Yosemite problem (related) which this forum helped me resolve and after venting a little, I received practical and helpful feedback for another problem. For me, it's been a great forum experience in which I am rid of 2 problems. BTW, I'm 1 day old in forums. I didn't know there were comment police on the job, so I'll refrain from using 3-letter words to describe the buttocks. Nor was I aware of such a thing as "threajacking". You've enlightened me, so I am thankful.

Live long and stress free.

1 - try reading the TOU that you agreed to in joining these forums

2 - try being logical about solving issues and not changing the subject to confuse others

3 - no police here - although the forum software does stop some profane and obscene posts - and the forum moderators will address people you continually violators the TOU

4 - if you want help why would you continue to vent against volunteers who are trying to help you - stick to the TOU and post revelant facts rather than RANTS, editorial comments and profane/obscene attacks

Have a nice day

Unfortunately this only works with some devices. Some iPodTouch / iPhone iOS devices trigger Image Capture to launch but then it does not recognize them and list them in the Devices list giving zero devices instead so this method can not be used. Same problem with cameras and SD cards that are triggering the launch.
