iPad Air 2 sound vibration

i just got my iPad Air 2 and the speaker vibrates whenever I play video or music even at low volume. Is this a common problem?

i couldn't have said it better...just the nature of the beast! i'll take all the advancements and thinness/lightness any day all day over being bothered with the vibrations...IMO it isn't excessive (not like its bouncing off the table or shaking my arm off) nor does it interfere with audio quality that is so much better than my old ipad2. just my opinion...

Hi... the case is nothing special.... seeing how I've just spent a decent amount on an iPad A2, I thought I'd take chance on a mega cheap case to keep the costs down. SAMAR® - Supreme Quality New Apple iPad Air 2 case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OOWJWAY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_de tailpage_o00_s00 (Used "Other Sellers on Amazon" to the right, to get it at its cheapest) There are better, more rigid cases out there that could probably do a better job, but this ones thin, doesn't add too much extra weight, quality is fair enough - although plain looking, comes with a stylus.... and was ridiculously cheap.. =) ...think I only paid £3.98 all in! ....anyway... you cAn still feel the vibrations, but just to lesser extent....... For me, comfortable, decent quality headphones are the way to go with these toast thin tablets. Koss Porta Pro On-Ear Headphones Classic: ..... I look for the ipad air 2 at different stores and all ipad that i try have the same vibrating broblem (or resonance or other words), it's very not funny to have this sensation on my fingers, i played for one hour and when i finish, my fingers continue to vibrate (sensation) for a long moment after. Not funny and just for that i dont buy. I'm disapointed because the specs are great, my ipad 2 like old but i stand for see if apple fix that.

I demand at sellers if they know this resonance problem, ''NO NO we dont know'' , but when i show at us, ''oh yes it's normal and just vibrating speakers, it's thin''.

Hey if my ipad have couple of milimeter more it's not a problem if he dont vibrate . I look the ipad air 1 and it's ok just little bit at full volume and it's very acceptable.

Apple why you dont just give the specs of air 2 on air 1 body.

It's bad but now i look for new Samsung.

I had my new ipad air 2 for approximately 24 hours before returning it for the same reason - and I tried out many other units in the apple store with the same uncomfortable vibration (and very little high frequency capability - ruins good quality music) - the rep in the Apple store admitted to me that he'd had several returns for the same issue - nice that he didn't lie!

Hi,

didn't browse through all the pages of the topic, so maybe somebody talked about it, but just got the iPad Air 2 and noticed the vibration, which was not ok. at first.

I work in audio ( recording and mixing ) and cannot imagine that these vibrations are not part of the design/concept from Apple.

That would be an enormous mistake on their part, that couldn't possibly have passed several layers of specialists and developers.

In fact if you listen to some music on it, while holding the tablet, it allows the user to "feel" ( thus "hear"...sort of ) the bass/bassdrum, basically the lower spectrum part of the sound, which you can not hear on any other similar device that I am aware of.

That impact of sound, physically, to me, is important to litterally feel the music.

It's like having a micro-club-sound in your hands.

Luckily, it does not sound like the tablet is rattling, which would be bad.

Anyway, I understand it might not be perceived as a good feature, especially with VOIP calls or your average youtube vids ( which have terrible sound, thus that sound gets amplified )

For music apps, it feels great to be able to feel a kickdrum/subbass... without having to resort to headphones or external speakers

Just my 2 cents...

I just got an Air 2 and it vibrates as low as 1 bar of volume (1 above mute). At 3 or 4 I can feel it through a pair of gloves (yes I tried that), even with the Air 2 in a case. At mid-volume it feels like I'm holding a subwoofer in my hands. I can feel vibrations everywhere, including on the screen and home button.

I don't really listen to music, but it does it even when Siri is talking.

Are they all this bad or is this one worse than normal?

Mine is as you describe. I'm stuck and can't return it. I'm hoping Apple acknowledges it and fixes it. Or I will deal with the extended warranty later. It is not acceptable but I need it and the older one I traded it is gone. Getting it replaced now, unless someone says another color doesn't do it, is fruitless. Mine is Space Gray.

ITs not not just music it happens in games too. Anything with sound really.

Biggnik,

While I appreciate and respect your skill set, I don't think the mainstream customer is going to appreciate or recognize the benefit of sound vibration (without the rattle). I've had my iPad Air 2 for about a week now (purchased on Black Friday) and I just can't seem to get used to it. It is a very strange feeling in my finger that radiates up my hand which is a very uncomfortable feeling.

I still have my iPad Air 1 that I was planning on selling on eBay. However, I'm having serious second thoughts. The main reasons I stepped up to the Air 2 was the fingerprint sensor, A8X processor and wireless AC. I hate wearing headphones and therefore won't be considered as a workaround.

It will interesting to see how many people return their iPad Air 2 and/or if Apple figures out a way to reconcile.

The vibrations on the ipad air 2 are unacceptable , they will cause health problems for users in the long run. I could feel it vibrate even at very low volumes when i could hardly hear the sound itself.

if the speaker was vibrating on heavy bass it would be possibly acceptable but it vibrates on normal vocal sounds like listening to news etc.

This is a major flaw for me and after trying to get accustomed to it and also using a case unfortunately i returned mine for a full refund today.

i would urge everyone to return theirs as this will cause numbness in fingers in the long run until unless you keep it muted all the time. Apple should be made to accept and rectify this problem rather than users having to spend money on thick cases or bluetooth speakers or just put up with it , as its an apple product and can never be flawed.
