My iPhone 6 launches apps by itself!

My new iPhone 6 launches application by itself! Have also had it highlight text within the Note app (that IT opened, not me!) and search the Internet for garbled text. It is either possessed or someone is playing a cruel joke on me! Anyone else experiencing this issue??

My iPhone is less then a week old and this issue had been brought up to me. However i had thought to myself, how come this problem had started now. I started to think about the changes that i had done to the phone before this issue occurred. I checked my case's screen protector and cleaned my screen, nothing was different. Then i had realized earlier in the day my friend had gave me his charging block since i had lost mine on a trip. I took the charger out of my phone and it went back to normal. I don't have a good rationale as to why this issue occurs when i specifically put his charger into my phone, however i came to the conclusion that if you are facing this problem one of the issues might be the fact that you have an unsafe accessory plugged into the device. I hope that this is the issue because it can be easily resolved. This was my experience with this "glitch" and hope that my response helps anyone facing this issue as well.

Here is my latest update on this ongoing, persistent problem with my iPhone 6. I purchased an Otterbox (I believe) Defender with Bodyguardz screen protector for my new iPhone. The salesman at our carrier installed these items on my new iPhone. It has been indicated to me (by a 3rd party company that is in partnership with Apple) that the screen protector is not meant to work with the Otterbox because it is too thick (the original screen protector that comes in the Otterbox was taken out by our carrier salesman). It also appears that the screen protector was not installed on my phone correctly -- slightly off center. These 2 issues together possibly could be the problem with my phone acting like there is a "poltergeist" running it. My phone was absolutely going crazy again last night.

I now get to go back to our carrier and see if they will replace the destroyed Otterbox (by their salesman). If that doesn't work, I go back to the 3rd party technicians (Apple approved) and possibly will get it sent in for repair or replacement.

I have learned 2 very valuable lessons thus far in this ongoing problem. #1 Always, Always, Always buy Apple Care. (We were told we did not need to purchase Apple Care coverage when I bought my new phone by our carrier -- they could save us money.) #2 Don't let them destroy one product so that it can be used with another product.

Also I am using the chargers that came with my iPhone 6 when I purchased it.

My phone began using apps on it's own while laying on my table. Unlike you, I was charging using the charging cable provided by Apple with my brand new iPhone 6. I could not make the phone stop opening apps by itself and clicking on items without touching the screen. Taking your advice I disconnected the charging cable and the ghost behavior stopped immediately! Bad charging cable? Broken phone charging port? Something is wrong.

Hello! I have been having the exact same issue you stated in your comment! Just started today and like you I did the whole reset, restart and restore and still I am having the issue. Did you have to get it replaced?

I just want to add that I think it is also making purchases on my itunes! I got a charge from no where and cannot seem to figure out where it came from!

So ridiculous!

I've had this exact same problem -- e.g., apps launching themselves, the phone freezing, numbers dialing themselves, etc. But when I turned off the "Find my iPhone feature," the problem when away. Completely. This is unfortunate, because I want the "Find my iPhone" feature to work, but I suppose what I want more is for my phone to operate only under my control.

Been reading all these posts, and I'm experiencing the same issues, but they just starting occurring today (as far as I know). I've had a invisishield screen protector and a simple case, but I've had these for a while without issues. I cleaned my screen, didn't help. Rebooted, didn't help. Closed all the apps and rebooted, didn't help. Everything else has been consistently the same (same chargers, same daily average usage, etc. Haven't downloaded any new apps recently. I doubt this is related, but I do use Good apps (it's for work, but like I said, that's probably not the cause).

The only thing that changed was last night, when I was renaming the hand-me-down MacBook Air my wife gave me, and then trying to get the iMessage app to sync with my iPhone and iPad. Since I renamed the MacBook, I had to reset my iCloud password so everything would appear properly. I had a time troubleshooting, but finally got it all working.

This morning, as I started working and using my iPhone, I saw the same problem as everyone else. Seems like it typically opens up the camera app, although sometimes it decides to open up my contacts or some other app. Oh, and typing an email is almost not possible. This is bad...very bad.

HELP!!

Hi everyone,

I have a possible solution to the problem. My phone has had this problem as well on occasion since the latest IOS upgrade, but nothing that made my phone unusable. Today, however, my phone started going berserk, opening random apps, typing text, etc., etc. I was on the phone with apple support for about 30 minutes before we made an appointment at the local apple store. Then I did some quick searches online and saw a motion of some one removing their screen protector, so I gave that a try, and VOILA, the crazy phone stopped being crazy. not sure exactly why this was, but it worked. So give it a try to see if the problem goes away.

I repeat: Try removing your screen protector to see if it solves the problem.

I am another Iphone 6-s Plus user that has the same problem. Phone works fine when it is off its charger but within 10 seconds of being place on the charger it starts opening apps all over the place. Randomly, (Yes, Iphone certified lightning charger and power adapter). I have it on an Otterbox and I have not removed it from the otterbox to try it in this manner but if it was related to the Otterbox, shouldn't it be happening all the time and not just when the charger is plugged in? Also, when the charger is plugged in, I cannot close all the automatically opened apps. I can close some of them but not all of them. I see that there is an icon in the reply box that shows the ability of adding video but it is grayed out. I would be happy to post a video of this phenomena during its activity but I am not sure if this forum allows it. Something strange going on here that Apple needs to address..But, will they?
