iPhone 6 constantly disconnecting from Audi MMI

I had the same problem with iPhone and ipod

disable "handoff" in your general settings and you will be happy.

at least it worked for me

unfortunatley yes. Phone was at 21% charge and still disconnected when directly attached to the mmi. Added the cable and all was fixed once I'd disabled by the handoff function on the phone.

I have exactly the same problem with my A1 and a new iPhone 6s - strangely enough it worked with my iPhone 6 w/o problems. I red in a Audi forum that disabling Hans Off on the iPhone should help. I shall try out. But it is a shame that this problem could not be solved in more than one year!!!

PS Forgot to mention but you can also connect your iPhone to the cars Wi-Fi hotspot and use either Audi Music Stream or MMI Connect apps to stream music and Internet radio. That works quite well and also transfers the Album Art but not Video.

Same syptoms for me.

A6 C7, AL yellow AMI cable, IOS 10.1.1

DIsabling Handoff does not help.

Next step is trying a lighting extension cable.

For now I just use BT or AMI depending on my phone charge. 😉

Since this thread was started 2 months ago have you checked with your dealer to see if there were any firmware updates issued for the car?

OK, guys, i recently bought an iphone 6 128 gb. I previously had an iphone 4s with excellent connectivity and showing all my songs artwork.

My mms (audi A3) got updated 6 months ago.

I Bought the 4FOO51 510 AL cable with the yellow ring and i just tested my iphone 6. it had 77% power and i didnt experienced connectivity issues. But it did frustrated me the fact that it doesn t show the artwork of the playing song. I will try to resyncronize my playlists with itunes hoping this will resolve this artwork problem and i ll keep updating this thread.

Has anyone else have the same artwork issue with this yellow ring cable?

Indeed: this this to be a common proplem: my iPhone 6 constantly (and, it appears, randomly) disconnects from the MMI system in my 2014 A5.

I follow MrB20VT suspicion: " it may be a charging issue as my phone was 100% charged this morning when I plugged it in, and everything worked fine but when I plugged in this evening (circa 45% charged) the constant disconnecting occurred again. It will connect, play a few seconds/minutes of a track, disconnect and then the process repeats.

Fully (or at least 90%) charged my Iphone 6 and the AUDI MMI connects perfectly well. It seems to be proofed that the problem is caused by IOS 8 rather than by any other software, app or devise.

So APPLE have someone solving it and get us updated.

and even thought with the AL didn't you achieve to hear any music or establish any connection for few secs? if you achieve a partial connection you solve the problem with the extender cable I mention in a previous comment. If not, go to dealer and complain...

maybe the cable restricts the extra power that the iphone 6 can use while charging.

I first thought it might take too much power from mmi when charging so that the mmi cannot handle it anymore and thus drops the connection.

but the disconnect from mmi is not a iPhone6(plus)-only problem.

I even had this issue with my iPod touch. Never tested it with the iPhone again after the iPod worked.

hey guys, i have the same problem with my 2015 A4 with mmi 3g+ and the iphone 6. got the C-Kabel. I ordered the L-Version now to check if that will work.

Yes, I have the A4 Allroad with this yellow ring, and it does not work,,,, just charge the phone, nothing more!

The "AL" cable with a yellow ring on one end does not work. The phone needs to be near fully charged for it to work properly.

Hopefully there is a firmware update abailable from Audi at my next service visit or Apple releases a update to fix this issue.

in the meantime, if you want your iPhone 6 to work in your audi using this new cable, make sure it's fully charged.....
