iPad Air 2 touch sensitivity problems

I purchased and iPad Air 2 two days ago. I noticed the screen had sensitivity problems around the outer edges which were apparent when trying to use the keyboard. Keys such as "Q," the microphone button and then pressing "done" as well as the character keyboard button and switching between various keyboards, etc. where not responding well to touch. I exchanged it for another one the next day, brought it home and it exhibited the same problems. Brought the second one back the store and the two sales associates noted the same thing only they had not come across this before. They brought out another one which I tried at the store and it had the same unresponsive key problems. Each iPad exhibited different degrees of this problem. Bouncing between keys "q" "a" "z" in rapid succession or trying to select the different character keyboards at the very bottom of the screen made the problem. Sometimes trying to compose an email or deleting one using the icons at the top of the screen exited the same problems. That was three iPad Air 2's. Several demo units exhibited the same problem while several others did not. Is this a defective manufacturing issue or a potential design flaw associated with the new laminated layers of screen?

Update:

The touch sensitivity issue continues to exist and only seems to occur when the charging cable is plugged in. The second I unplug it the problem disappears even if I leave it in the case so it has nothing do with the case.

As a result I now have a habit of unplugging the charging cable when using the iPad and only plugging it back in when I am not using it.

I can confirm the same experience. My virtual keyboard was extremely erratic at times to the point that it was unusable. I then noticed it only occured when I was charging the iPad. As soon as I unplugged the cable, the problem went away. Secondly, I tested back a forth between an Apple charger and a third party charger. Every time, the keyboard worked correctly when not charging, or when charging with the Apple charger. But it behaved erratically when charging with the third party charger.

I have seen no other indication that there is a problem with the third party charger - no warning messages, for instance. Nor did I ever notice this issue with my old iPad 3.

Problem solved, for me.

I just got a new iPad Air 2 and that happened to me as well. And not just on the keyboard, on scrolling, launching apps and selecting settings. No problems off the charger or on an Apple charger. Glad I found this thread, I was about to return the device.

Same issue with typing, touching, using my bamboo stylus (old and new), jot pro stylus, waccom fine line stylus, and Adonit touch. I also have a Zagg glass installed. All where giving me fits with touch and typing. I was just getting ready to rip,off the zagg. The other day I did the reset settings and it seemed to get better. Yesterday I did the 8.1.3 upgrade and this morning while connected of after market dual charger I was once again having issues. I could barely type. Forget touching with the stylus. After seing This post I removed the ipad from the charger and lo and behold I can type with no lag time. Well nj-Kyle you saved me a trip back to Apple and wasting a Zagg glass. Thank you.

After a couple of weeks of trial and error and a fruitless visit to the genius bar I have surmised that my power supply is causing interference with the touch screen. I am having issues with various chargers and even when plugged into my speaker system via the earphone jack. I tried the same cable at my friend's house and it worked fine. I think it's either the frequency of my power supply or a static charge in my system or another device causing interfere or something

I think the official response is to use the Apple charger or a third party one that's been tested not to cause the issue. From reading here and on various other forums the problem stems from the charger. All that have gone to using the Apple chargers no longer have the issue. It solved the issue for me and apparently most everyone else. Try it.

I Purchased a new Ipad air 2 in November. I started having all the. Same touchscreen issues mentioned, including vibration and unresponsive keyboard. One of the more frustrating problems is how long it takes to type a message or email. I have had the device replaced, did no good, then a complete reinstall because the Gee its bar tech said I had a memory problem. I am now working with Apple to figure out how they are going to resolve th problem. Anyone else have this figured out? Very frustrating playing games. Auto fill can only fix so much. I am getting those little pops several timesm ever day. I'm keeping. Thtttt errors in this post to demonstrate how all the errors keep happening. Acosta that should fall a couple minute ow taking 5! I've been a loyal Apple owner for more than 12 year and this. E worst problem ever. Don't know how it will get iced.
