iPad Air 2 freezes from time to time

I Have the iPad 2 not the air and I downloaded the 8.1. Not only does it freeze, the typing is very slow. Catches up with my typing after two words and shutsdown on its own

of course I use the latest versions of iOS and apps!

I have the 64gb version with wifi.

Has no more freezes the last couple of days.

I See no link with touch id because it doesn't happen when unlocking.

Got the latest iOS 8.1 and still i'm experiencing these freezes.
Actually, it's quite annoying, because i got used to iPad 4, which one was never freezing. Aspect of the quality is starting to fall and that's what really disappoints me. 😕

I received my new iPad Air 2 on 30 Oct and it has been freezing several times a day. Occasionally, I can't even get it to wake up until after a few minutes of pressing the Home and Power buttons. I called the helpdesk and they don't have a solution.

I'm losing faith by the day. Apple better fix this fast before its reputation goes (further) down the drain.

hi That is just what I siad a few days ago. If you still have problems after new update out soon return for a replacement I returned iPad Air 2 got a full refund because of Viberation on sound I think this ipad is to Flimsy. Now I have iPad Air 1 £359.00 for 32G Cheers Brian

Hopefully this will fix my older iPad 2nd generation? Because I don't think they will replace it

I Started with iPad 2v4, had it 18 months with no problems at all, then one day it just went black In the middle of a scrabble game. Pitch black. Not a power-down-ran-out -of-battery kind of power down. Just black. Took it to Apple store, could not be fixed. Offered me $50 to buy it back.

October 8th bought a new iPad air wifi 64 from Sams (30 day try-out return policy, plus I work there) because we didn't have anymore iPad 2v4s. Thought it would be better. Wrong. It either took FOREVER to load pages, or it opened them blazing fast. Sometimes the load bar would show a blue line "opening" a page but them a white screen would show. figured out that when that happened I could rotate the screen and the page would come up. What??? Why??. Also, apps seemed to crash quite a bit, but that I could handle. Then screens started freezing and I had to reboot Often. What?? Why? Looked for updates, none available since I started it with the latest update. I figured I just had a defective pad, so I brought it back to SAMs. November 1st...Traded for the new Air2, wifi 64 again. SAME ISSUES ONLY WORSE. so now I have to say it must be the IOS not the pad. This ***** because I had bought the life proof case and covers for the Air and OF COURSE they don't fit the Air2. I will wait out the 30 days to see if they can fix the update, but if not? I'm not wealthy enough to just keep switching out iPads. Might have to get a big brother for my Samsung phone. Maybe their tablets are better this year than Apple. Darn, I miss my old ipad '4'.

I recently bought two ipad air 2s 64G. They both freeze up occasionally and its not easy task to restart them. It's like buying a new car and it won't start the week after. I hope an iOS update will fix the problem. My iPad 2 never had this problem.

My 128GB Air 2 sometimes just have a black screen after i have left it. It has loads of battery but i had to press the home button probaly 20 times and power button the same. It didnt restart like 7.0.2 issues but suddenly its there again. It can happen a few times a week.

Same over here... I have the iPad Air 2 64GB wifi and freezes once a day minimum.... :S

Btw i have the "new" Airport Express router and suddenly my iPad Air 2 just looses connection to it. Any others have the same problem? Or should i set it up again?

My iPad air 2 freezes up also. I did notice it happens when I attempt to close the app iPages and Safari by using five fingers. The window shrinks but never closes. The ONLY way to recover is to do a hard re-boot.
