i can not send mail , is this BUG on Yosemite 10.10 ?
it is not my ISP problem , because i can send mail from my iPhone.

I recently downloaded Yosemite. I can receive emails but cannot send any out. Is this a smtp problem or is this part oy the yosemite mail crash problem ?

i fixed problem , i delete all accounts after re-setup again. After all accounts start to working.
if u have like that issues , first delete that account after re-install again.

When is Apple going to fix this bug ---- its as bad as the bugs Microsoft puts out!!
None of the advice in the article targets the actual problem!!
Go to mail Preferences-Accounts-Advanced. Uncheck -Automatically detect and maintain account settings. Check - Allow insecure authenticatio.
This does not fix anything for my external email accounts -- also edited the plist file and changed the designation for insecure accounts from false to true -- still not fixed.
Internet accounts also cannot access my external email accounts. I've check the external email account credentials -- can login from webmail OK -- so it is not a problem with the external email account.
Another Yosemite bug --- why is it taking Apple so long to address this issue??
There are also issues with receiving mail for people with POP mail services. Please see my posts on "mail receiving issues on Yosemite".
Worked fine from install until this Tuesday.

Today i open mac mini , i start to take again SMTP problem , i think this is 10.10 bug , now i must re-setup mail accounts again.

i setup my all mail accounts , after i tested i can receive and sending mail , after i restart my mac mini , again issue is coming.
i think 10.10 can not SAVE good mail settings. (SOFTWARE problem)
i hope apple technical can help US !

It is most defiinitly a mac issue.I have tried everything to fix this in my shaw email and gmail,,nothing works, if it did once it sure doesnt now.
I even had a mac tech help me last weekend and the gmail account started sending mail again..so we thought the issue was with shaw mail.but no,
none of my emails work now as far as sending. I can recieve only
I did not change the settings for gmail as they seemed to be ok after apple tech help.
At best it will send but then i get a mail delivery system email back.. im reconsidering PC after all my wasted time on this.

I have the same problem using a brand new Mac Mini equipped with Yosemite 10.10. The Mail application refuse to connect to my TX service provider Videotron the largest in Quebec. Videotron is blaming APPLE for this serious problem saying MAIL was operating properly using 10.09 Maverick. After hours of testing at my Apple store, they still blaming each other about this serious malfunction. Finally since no body is taking the blame, i had to return this new computer after seven days of discussion with both companies involved with this unconnect situation. I am using Mail on my old G5 power pc without any problem. The same server is also used with MAIL in my IPAD and my portable 13in Apple without difficulties. The purchase of this new Mini Mac was for my 10 years old Power Pc replacement. If they fix that problem rapidly, I will have to switch to PC in order to get security protection for my data which is no longer available with G5 Motorola processer since all recent units run on Intel. But it is the way it is at this time, people concerned are not taking each other at this present time and who knows if they ever will. Regards
