will apple replace my slightly bent iphone 6?

I bought my iphone 6 about 1 month ago, and recently i notice it is a little bent.

Its not a big issue and the phone still works it just looks really weird and im worried it might get worse.

I didn't put the phone in my back pocket at all or try to bend it in any way so im pretty sure its not my fault.

If i take this to apple will they replace/fix my phone for free?

my iPhone 6 was bent after a months use inspite of using a really nice case..however I'm happy that i got a replacement for it...apples theory to the bend is the phone should not be kept in any pockets..now the phone replaced to me has a rattle gate issue with the camera lens which my bent iPhone didn't have..im pretty convinced I've been given a refurbished unit..but again yes apple did replace a bent iPhone ))

I have rang apple as I could not find that they have addressed the issue with this online.

So its classed as accidental damage.... I do not put my phone in my pocket, it is in a case and kept in a phone pouch in my handbag to avoid it getting damaged!

When I bought this phone, I was not advised that this phone might bend and that I would be liable if it did!

So as far as I am concerned they have sold a faulty product which should be replaced if the person purchasing the phone was not made aware of this!

Apple surely would of tested the phone!!

Very very unhappy, I have always been happy with my Apple products but this has really changed my mind.

Everything can bend. No smartphone in the world is imperious to bending.

And Apple does test their devices. Under normal use, a non-defective iPhone does not bend. Therefore, either excessive force or pressure was applied to your device (possibly unintentionally), or your device was defective.

It did not bend all on it's own. Some form of pressure/force was applied. Now, whether the device is defective and a within-tolerance amount of force/pressure caused the bend, or excessive, out-of-tolerance force/pressure caused a non-defective device to bend, that's for Apple to decide. And that's what will determine whether it is a considered an in-warranty replacement or out-of-warranty replacement.

And Apple has apparently told you it is classified as accidental damage, not defect. Therefore, your choices are to either pay the out-of-warranty fee, accept the current condition of the device, or speak to Apple again and request an exception to the out-of-warranty fee.

I had the same thing last week, with my regular iPhone 6. Sent off for repair (I dont live near an Apple Store) and surprised to see they were charging me full whack for what I honestly believe was a defect. I contacted Apple Support, and fortunately the supervisor agreed to waive the repair charge. By the sounds of it, though, this has been the exception rather than the rule.

You're exactly right. Apple may waive the out-of-warranty/accidental damage fee. But since it's totally at their discretion, and also at the discretion of the Store Manager or Senior Advisor, it's best to present the request in a calm and polite manner.

Stop playing on words and defending the company this way. The bottom line is that this defect is clear, just admit that fault... God!!

And how is Chris supposed to know what Apple will or will not do in a specific situation, especially when each situation is unique?

And you have no proof or documentation that it is a defect. And even if there are some devices that are defective, not all of them are. For every person that has a bent iPhone 6, there are thousands that do not have a bend in their iPhone 6.

My phone was slightly bent, when I noticed it I made an appointment with the nearest apple store right away and did not try to unbend it on my own. The genius who worked with me did the visual eye test and decided that it was worthy of a replacement phone which I was ecstatic to hear, because a lot of what I read online said they weren't replacing any bent phones. I asked him if it was a refurbished phone I would be receiving, and he said it would be a brand new phone, very awesome customer service! I went to school with one of the people working there, he is not a genius, but once I was done being helped by the genius I went to talk to him. He said that most apple stores where being "pretty lenient" about replacements, which is great for the customers who have had this issue. I was very pleased with the apple customer service I received, hope it is favorable for everyone else as well!

I just bought one about 2 hours ago, and it came from the factory slightly bent between the volume buttons. Hard to notice unless you look at the phone at the right angle. I suspect that's what happened to a lot of people who noticed the bend only after using it.

There's probably a part of the manufacturing process that puts pressure on the phone, and the quality assurance is missing it.

I brought my slightly bent 2 month old iPhone 6 to the Apple Store in Rosevile, MN. The phone had only ever been in my hand or my purse. Zach, who is the Store Manager there said he wouldn't help me and that if he did, it would reflect poorly on him and he would receive a bad annual review. I asked him which of the two would be worse - negative customer feedback on him personally or the impact on his review and he told me the review would be worse.

In reality, he could have exchanged the phone, but he refused to do it. This is in spite of me letting 'Zach' know that I am the mother of a family of 6 and we own 6 iPhones 6/6+'s, 5 iPads, 4 MacBooks, 4 iMacs, 5 iPods, 2 Airport Expresses and 3 Apple TV's. Apparently Apple uses metrics to measure their managers that rewards this type of extremely poor customer service.

As a result, in the future, I will direct my purchases away from Apple products.

Apple has stated that bent iPhones are not an issue. In fact early on in the product launch, they stated that only '9 customers had problems with bent phones'. At present, there are 600+ pictures submitted by owners of bent iPhones on the web site oneofthenine.com. Based on that, I would imagine that the actual number of people that have ended up with bent iPhones is in the tens of thousands.

There is a cottage industry that is developing as a result of this being a widespread problem;
