will apple replace my slightly bent iphone 6?

I bought my iphone 6 about 1 month ago, and recently i notice it is a little bent.

Its not a big issue and the phone still works it just looks really weird and im worried it might get worse.

I didn't put the phone in my back pocket at all or try to bend it in any way so im pretty sure its not my fault.

If i take this to apple will they replace/fix my phone for free?

I just bought one about 2 hours ago, and it came from the factory slightly bent between the volume buttons. Hard to notice unless you look at the phone at the right angle. I suspect that's what happened to a lot of people who noticed the bend only after using it.

There's probably a part of the manufacturing process that puts pressure on the phone, and the quality assurance is missing it.

I brought my slightly bent 2 month old iPhone 6 to the Apple Store in Rosevile, MN. The phone had only ever been in my hand or my purse. Zach, who is the Store Manager there said he wouldn't help me and that if he did, it would reflect poorly on him and he would receive a bad annual review. I asked him which of the two would be worse - negative customer feedback on him personally or the impact on his review and he told me the review would be worse.

In reality, he could have exchanged the phone, but he refused to do it. This is in spite of me letting 'Zach' know that I am the mother of a family of 6 and we own 6 iPhones 6/6+'s, 5 iPads, 4 MacBooks, 4 iMacs, 5 iPods, 2 Airport Expresses and 3 Apple TV's. Apparently Apple uses metrics to measure their managers that rewards this type of extremely poor customer service.

As a result, in the future, I will direct my purchases away from Apple products.

Apple has stated that bent iPhones are not an issue. In fact early on in the product launch, they stated that only '9 customers had problems with bent phones'. At present, there are 600+ pictures submitted by owners of bent iPhones on the web site oneofthenine.com. Based on that, I would imagine that the actual number of people that have ended up with bent iPhones is in the tens of thousands.

There is a cottage industry that is developing as a result of this being a widespread problem;

I experienced the same issue today

I noticed that one corner of my screen was making a clicking noise when pressed it as if the screen was loose - a week later, the screen had popped out of the frame and when I took it into the Genius bar, they told me that it was actually bent and since it was bent they wouldn't replace it. I purchased the phone 3 weeks ago and they offered to give me a new one for $350... I have been treating this phone like gold since I bought it from apple at full price. I have not dropped it a single time and it has otherwise been sitting in my purse. I was quite surprised and disappointed that Apple didnt agree with me that a phone that cost that much shouldnt have the screen pop out of the frame less than a month after I purchased it.

I am really late but oh well. Today I took my iPhone 6 plus to the Genius Bar (2nd time) for the same problem. I was getting a gray bar at the top of the screen and the first time they replaced the screen for free. two months later I'm back at the Genius Bar today and this time they took a look at my phone and the staff member noticed a slight bend in my phone without question they replaced with a new one completely free.

Just for the record; my white iPhone 6+ was bought as one of the very first models and had after a few month a clicking noise from the top of the screen that indicated a loose screen, I saw others had the same problem on forums but was too lazy to take it to the store and complain.

I never really been happy with this iPhone as it constantly had all sorts of small failures, I had to restart it constantly to get Mobile data connection and the screen often would not accept swipe to answer calls, programs stuck etc. not really the "just work" quality that I had with so many other apple products over the years.

And now only a few days ago I noticed the phone was bend across the Volume button and the SIM tray slot as so many others and I went to the Apple store, first they was trying to talk down to me and teach me how I should have taken better care of my phone and that they normally did not replace bend phones.

So... I EXPLODED and told them not to treat me like a little child and tell me how to take care of my phone, I have never damaged any of the huge amounts of phones and I refered to all the similar online cases online and that they all have some kind of design/metal weakness around the buttons and that I would not leave the Shop before I got a new phone, So... after consulting the Manager it was decided to replace my bend iPhone with a new one!

Im still ****** off with the attitude and that I had to argue and fight for a replacement as it to me is a clear case of weak design.

There’s a specific weak point on the inside of the chassis right beneath the volume buttons that allows it to bend very easily with pressure added in the right place.

The iPhone 6 Plus will bend if enough pressure is applied to a certain area. In fact, a lot of phones will bend when extreme pressure is applied. Everything has a weak point.

so get on with it
