Safari 8 graphics distorted

In Safari 8, ever since the Yosemite Beta and continuing through OS X 10.10.1, Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1), on occasion web pages will start to show PNG graphics as distorted. Quitting and restarting Safari clears the problem. I've not seen the issue in other browsers. Anyone else see this? Any ideas for a fix, or is it a problem with Safari 8's rendering engine and perhaps its compatibility with certain graphics cards?

FYI, I've seen this on two different MacBook Pros w/Retina, one 15" 2012 and one 13" 2013, and a 2010 Mac mini.

Yup, I have the same problem. Bits of the screen turn black and a bunch of garbage covers the page that looks like thousands of tiny thumbnails. I had a call in with Apple and showed them a few screenshots and they couldn't figure it out. Its totally intermittent and they wanted me to make it happen on the spot. They gave me a case number, "reset" safari for me and cut me loose. I thought it was my graphics card but it doesn't happen in any other app.

The graphics distortion you are seeing is more pronounced than I've seen. In my case, most of a web page renders as expected, but anywhere there is an embedded PNG file, the graphic is distorted beyond recognition, but retaining the shape of the image mask. I don't have a screenshot as yet, but I will post it here once I'm able to get one.

Oh good, it's not just me! I was worried that I already messed up my new Mac.

My glitches seem to be pretty comparable to Mimi's, only mine end up being more colorful -- like a glitchy rainbow hopping all over my page as more things load (or try to). Anyway, refreshing the page generally helps me, but beyond that, I haven't found a fix yet.

I've also been experiencing this issue. Didn't make the connection between PNGs and the distortion though. I also noticed that my 15-inch, early 2013 Retina MacBook pro was using the nvidia processor when it started, but after I quit the program using it and it switched back to the intel chip the distortion reduced dramatically, but was still present. Captured some screenshots. This happened when I was in the yosemite beta through now (10.10.1, 14B25)User uploaded file

I have this issue on a late 2011 MBP with the AMD graphics chip. I can temporarily solve the problem by resetting Safari and like others on here this started with Yosemite. I have done a clean install as well.

There is a great deal elsewhere on here referring to failing AMD graphics chips on the 2011 MBP and others. Is this the same issue amplified by Yosemites greater graphics need or a software problem that will be cured in an update?

I have a result here. Spoke to Apple Support, they did very things remotely that didn't resolve the issue. I went to a Genius Bar appt. they ran test and agreed that there was an issue with the logic board. This has been replaced out of warranty free of charge, pick it up today.

FRustrating but all credit to Apple. No arguments about replacement, not sure you would get this from another manufacturer.

I'm not disputing that it could be due some logic board or hardware issue. But it seems weird that this issue started for all of use after updating to Yosemite and the new Safari. For me, I only see this issue in Safari and only on certain web sites like Yahoo. I often run multiple displays for video editing and music making. For instance today I was recording in Logic with 2 external displays hooked up. No issues. And throughout the week I've been editing video in FCPX while using an external HDMI monitor with video out. No issues. It seems if it was hardware the issue would rear it's head elsewhere but it doesn't. Only in Safari since updating to Yosemite.
