Yosemite 10.10.1 causing Safari not to play YouTube videos...

Hi guys/girls,

I installed Yosemite on my iMac (20-inch, Mid 2007) when it was first released and I had no issues whatsoever.

Last night I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1 and now all of a sudden Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1) won't play any YouTube videos. All I get is a black screen with a little audio clipping.

When using Firefox (v32.1.1) or Chrome (v38.0.2125.122) everything works ok.

Any thoughts?

Hello there!

Last week I upgraded to Yosemite. Since then I experienced graphical errors like everything freezing except the mouse or sometimes strange artifacts when starting iPhoto. These errors mostly occurred while using Safari.

The diagnostic file from the console said that "The Main Ring is hung in a batch buffer" due to the event of a GPU Restart. I did not really thought about it because I did a lot of things like installing and uninstalling software and upgraded right away from Mavericks. So I decided to just make a clean install.

I started the system with cmd+r formatted the SSD and restarted (I don't know why).

I did not knew that I, with formatting the SSD would also kill the Recovery partition. As a result only Online recovery worked and I had to install Mountain Lion then upgrade to Maverics then upgrade to Yosemite and then reinstall without restarting after formatting "Macintosh HD"

It all seems to work fine now except Youtube.

Some videos get buffered and are playable, some just make strange high pitched sounds and last only for 3 seconds, sometimes it says there is something wrong and I should click for further information and sometimes the video just stoppes at 2 seconds without showing anything.

Moreover these strange graphical problems are still existing. There is already an own thread for this problem so I think it's a software related Yosemite one.

I installed and uninstalled Adobes crappy Flash Player several times but watching videos on Youtube is still not possible.

I looked for some strange Konsole outputs and this is what I found:

21.11.14 23:37:30,577 com.apple.WebKit.Plugin.64[1623]:

Failed to connect (colorGridView) outlet from (NSApplication) to (NSColorPickerGridView): missing setter or instance variable

I am now on a mid 2012 Mac Book Pro Retina with Yosemite.
