iPhone 6 Music Volume Drop After Notification

Yes, thank goodness! Quitting the Facebook app returned to normal volume immediately. This appears to be a Facebook App problem, not an iOS problem. I imagine this is related to FB auto-playing videos in the feed, and it's muting the audio, but maybe still sending "silent" audio to the iOS audio system, so it ducks the music. I've disabled video auto-play this under Settings > Facebook > Settings, under Video, set Auto-play to Off. We'll see if that helps!

I'm having the same situation as well. My fix is to kill the music app and start it again. Highly annoying.

I Am releived to know this problem is linked with ios and not the iphone 6 for me i have to reboot the iphone 6 to get it back up. But i have noticed the volume drop while music is playing and there is no notification sound. Maybe background notification sounds are triggering it.

I Noticed in my case the notification has nothing to do. Its some other issue

The notification doesnt cause the problem, if anything, it normalizes the sound.

The problem is with a background app, I mostly found that if you double click and kill the facebook apps, the problem doesnt happen.

But recently I updated the FB app and have not come across the problem, hope it stays that way

This is a persistent problem, even in 8.1.3

I've found that closing Facebook app restores the volume.

I'm not sure if this applies to everybody, but it works for me every time.

there is a similar problem with the youtube app making the airplay option disappear especially on the ipad (mini 1st gen in my case)

Yep Ive got the same problem too!! for me it's the facebook app, as soon as u shut it down, the volume comes back. U can shut every other app down first and there is no change. its a bit suss if u ask me.....

This problem is sooo annoying me ,it hurts when the music volume gets down 😠

The issue is with iOS lowering the volume for incoming notifications / calls etc but it forgets to raise the volume back up to normal levels.

Facebook, incoming messages, mail alerts, whatsapp msgs etc can trigger and cause this problem.

The surest solution to fixing this is to force quit the music app and reopen it again. Pretty stupid I know as you're probably driving when it happens.

I also find that pressing the rewind track < button usually raises the volume but this method is a bit spotty and hit and miss.

that never works for me. i always have to reboot the iphone
