You can wait until the end of the world comes, and you will still have the problem, because it has nothing to do with the version of iOS. Either you need to recalibrate your battery gauge, or your battery is failing.

To recalibrate your battery gauge:

  • Run the battery all the way down until the device shuts off. If it shuts off above 1% charge it for a couple of minutes, then disconnect and continue running it down. Repeat until it gets to 1% before shutting off.
  • Once it has shut off and will not turn on connect it to the wall adapter and charge until it reaches 100% without using it.

If recalibrating does not fix the problem you almost certainly have a failing battery.

I Have weird battery behavior in an iPhone 5s since IOS 8 too, and it seems to get worst at each new patch. Battery drops very fast from 80% after 4 hours to 30 % after 8 hours. Around 16% percent (12 hours) the iPhone shuts down And won't restart unless I put some one minute power at it, then opens with 16 % then shuts down . Doing the procedure 5 or 6 times and then 1% .... wait for it to shutdown by itself, then put it with power and in 5 minutes ... 14%!

I wiped and restored the iPhone 2 times, did all the "usual" manipulations (reset network, reduce screen intensity, ...) nothing makes it better!

I Had no problem with IOS 7!

I am totally disconfident in Apple being able to fix it ....
