The problem definitely IS the version of iOS. I never had any battery problem at all with my 5C until the very moment I updated to 8.1.3. The problems are exactly the same as mentioned above, so please don't put it down to the battery mysteriously dying the EXACT moment I updated.

Apple, please don't ignore your responsibility and release a patch ASAP. iPhones are expensive, so I expect better quality than this.

I thought I had quite solved the problem by deactivating APPLE's spy activities and 24 hours later the phone DIES with 89% (!!!) put 10 seconds power on it ... it powers with 89% ... and dies immediately, put 10 seconds power on it and phone opens with 46% (!!!); 3 minutes later only 39% left doing nothing !

This is ridiculous, Apple engineers are incompetent !

There seems to be a lot of people that believe this battery problem is an error. I don't. It's a ploy buy Apple to insure that everyone needs to go out and buy new charging equipment. All the people I have spoken to about this that have updated and are enjoying their scheme have ended up in a store of some description buying new equipment. I over heard one counter jumper saying" this new cable should fix the problem.

My concerns that this is a deliberate problem took further grip when I noticed my phone was disabling the USB port on my non Apple laptop. Plug in the phone mouse wouldn't work (of course I tried an Number) disconnect the phone USB still not working. Restart computer USB back working. Plug in the phone and it died again. I did this a number of times to the same result.

You would be hard pressed to convince me that this isn't Apples way of combatting the cheap Chinese products. The problem is it wont recognise there own older products.

I never had any of the problems related to Apple with other products so I will be binning my I Phone 5 as soon as I can get a new sim card. No I wont sell it or give it away because that would defeat the purpose.

the same problem here

ALSO I NOTICED MORE RAM USAGE (used to be more than 150 left up to 200, maybe more, now around 70 mb left, some times less

There is no connection between battery use and free RAM. If the phone is operating normally and correctly there should be practically no free RAM, as iOS optimizes RAM use dynamically to keep as many apps in memory as possible. Attempting to manually manage RAM by killing apps, as some people do, actually increases battery drain, it doesn't reduce it. so u r sayin that an OS using for ex. 20% of RAM is the same as 80% regarding battery usage?!

it just means that more things are operating and using that RAM and CAN drain battery..where mostlly everything was fine before this update even in iOS 7..

when I used to have ex. 50% free. there was no lags or slow response from apps, but now,...! so is that a good thing?

in short, it's all wrong from Apple,no excuses .

You have ZERO understanding of operating systems, and iOS, yet you think you know more than Apple's engineers. The amount of memory used has NOTHING to do with battery drain. Apps in memory are not using more power; they are suspended unless they are the active application. Did you both to read the link that I posted? In fact if you have a lot of free memory that means when an app needs to run to process a notification or an update it must be copied into memory, which uses more energy than it would if it was already in memory.
