the new iOS 8.3 - Mail Connection Issues

Since my husband and I updated to the new 8.3 our emails are not working. We get an error message that says:

Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.

We use Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook. Tried to have a chat with apple this morning however they kept trying to tell me it was my phone...anyone else encountering this issue all the sudden??

Yeah, a "From the Dark-side" app, but very clean, works, has a neat "remail" this message on a schedule feature. You can use it with Yahoo email, et al.. Micro$$oft's Outlook email from the web isn't bad, this was a shocker, oddly they went with a less is more design. Something that can not be said of Yahoo email, bloated Google email, when used with a browse.

I was having the same issue after installing 8.3. I have .me, .icloud, .Hotmail, and .gmail accounts set up in an iPhone 6. If you tried to load mail using all inboxes, I would always get the error pop up. If I fetched mail to the accounts one at a time, 3 accounts worked; Hotmail didn't. It seems that the 8.3 update process somehow clobbered the pw to my Hotmail account. I deleted then reinstalled the Hotmail account and all is well.

Having same issue iPhone 4s and iPad 2 after latest update. Have turned everything off, powered off and back on, deleted email account and reloaded. Nothing working. After reloading email account cannot retrieve previous emails. I know I have older devices but still have had no issues until yesterday and after iOS update

I tried a bunch of stuff, more of my time down a time sink, thanks Apple, the problem kept coming back.

My latest effort was to delete the Yahoo Email account from the iPad and use "Other" to add it back and not the built in "Yahoo" add. So far so go, knock on wood.

Yahoo has always been "odd" with its email, IMAP in particular, odd my problem was with SMTP, my old iPad first edition doesn't have a problem, so it has to the last Apple update and Apple's problem.

Not to worry, Apple will release an IOS update in a year or so, unless they need to add iCloud support somewhere or a service that might supply extra $$$ from some limited free service, cough.

My wife's Samsung android is looking better and better, you can use it for the purpose it was purchase for, Apple.

Hey Guys, I came here to share my experience I was having major issues adding my exchange e-mail through the native mail app server

I was getting the 'Cannot Get Mail - the connection to the server failed.'

What I realized once signing into the Outlook WebMail app for my exchange e-mail is it allows a total of THREE mobile connections. Meaning if you had phones previously or have added multiple backups what not, it creates a 'new connection'.

After three connections, it blocks you from pulling the e-mail from the server. Meaning, you can add and it shows successful but won't pull the e-mail.

What I did was delete all my mobile phone connections through the Webmail app ----> Signed out ----> Re-added the e-mail via my iPhone.

To access the mobile connections through Outlook WebMail:

Login > Options > Phone > Mobile Phones

Again, this is only for Exchange e-mails. This worked for me. Hopefully, it helps someone out.
