From what I've been reading in here and many other questions made from other users, the 8.3 update has brought many camera and flash issues, specially for iphone 5 and 5c. My camera works fine, but the flashlight doesn't (since the update). I'm pretty sure it is not a hardware problem, otherwise there wouldn't be so many people complaining about the same things, related to the 8.3 update.

Does any of you know if it is possible to write directly to Apple to describe this issue?

I am sure that they read what we write here, but it would just to make sure they understand that they have to fix this in the next update.

I have the same issue as you guys but mine was from before IOS 8.3. Mine actually started from the previous update in which the only new feature was the apple watch app. My rear camera went black screen shortly after that update. I'd have hoped the new IOS 8.3 would have fixed that, but to my disappointment it didn't. I cannot downgrade, i've done ever reset, restore i could have. I even Took the phone to be taken down and checked and i was told my camera is in perfect condition. So, Apple, I, and everyone here suffering this very, VERY aggravating problem, are telling you: PLEASE HURRY AND FIX THIS F*****G ISSUE!!

+1 On this issue. iPhone 5 iOS 8.3.

Using my camera at work on a daily basis. After upgrading to iOS 8.3 it fails. Black screen.
Front camera kind of works, but the camera apps are very sluggish until the front camera has been engaged.

Have tried all the reset and restore maneuvers to no avail.

Is there any official Apple comments or feedback on this?

My wife has also got a iPhone 5, but a much later revision. That seems to work just fine with iOS8.3.

Apple, I know you are watching: Go fix it!!!

Adding an update - the camera seems to be getting stuck with this new feature I've heard about in the update that allows for some type of focusing - its opened several times with a square box and it tries to obtain focus and then freezes and the whole image goes blurry, then black and thats how its stays. There is obviously some bug here. Trying to provide more details because I know a number of us rely on our phone cameras and this isn't cool.

update on the matter:

i spoke to an apple rep, he told me that more likely it would be a hardware problem and not a software problem! i told him that was not true because their was already a forum with a few people having the same problem, he said not likely, told me to try DFU mode ans restore everything! i tried it without any success! ive tried everything i can find on the net and nothing seems to work, rep told me i would have to send in my phone for repair or replacement and i would have to pay! sounds to me all they want is more ans more $$$$$$$! if there is any developer reading this report the bug plz! apple youre screwing up big time!

so this is hilarious, i was having trouble as well with my iPhone 5c T-Mobile; I'm sitting in my living room and I have a tile floor, I had my phone in my scrubs in a pocket that kinda loose! I got up twice and my iPhone fell both those times! about a foot high! Well to my surprise my camera and flash are working now! Still gonna wait on what they say for update or something, but hey it worked for me! Hahaha

SO...I can't fix the app, but I can give you some advice for checking to see if it's the app or the camera itself. Download the app called "Camera Awesome". It's a free app, and it worked perfectly on my phone. Open it to rule out a hardware issue. If that works, then that means your camera is still useable. My advice for taking pictures? Go into your text messages, use your own number at the recipient, and use the bottom left camera icon to send yourself pictures. That way you can either save them to your camera roll, save them in your texts, or send them to someone else if need by. Hope this helps!
