iPhone 5 camera not working after 8.3 update

I Have the same issue with my iPhone 5 camera

Here I was thinking it was an issue with my hardware. My rear camera would also show a black screen since the 8.3 update. At first I could "Reset All Settings" and it would work for about 2 days before I had to reset again. Brought it into the Apple Store, the guy did a DFU reset and the camera worked again, for about 1 day before reverting back to the black screen.

Going to try to roll back to 8.2 to see if that fixes things. Hopefully Apple fixes this issue in the next update.

Exactly the same problem happen on mine. I tired to re-start the iphone then it works once but the problem happen again. What happen to this update??

Well I restored back to 8.2 and the camera still doesn't work.

Maybe it's a hardware problem, but very strange that it happened exactly after installing 8.3, and I guess I wasn't the only one.

I've had the same problem since yesterday. I've tried to reset to factory and nothing, but then I restored it back to 8.2. following the post from mecheng1675 and it worked.

I restored it to factory (total wipe) and then restored to 8.2. At first it was slow, but give it a couple of seconds, then it works!!!

I had the same problem on my iphone 5s, besides many other issues after the iOS 8.3 upgrade: apps crashing, iphone freezing when trying to log into icloud settings, and so on. Many of these problems were resolved when I went into

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

[That's not the option "Erase All Content and Settings," which erases your own content. This option leaves your content intact.]

After that, the camera worked again.

Tried it on my iPhone 5. It messed up everything I have spent loads of time to get right and did no good to my camera problem.

Perhaps it is of use for the 5s but for the good old 5 it does no good! :-(

Tried it on my 5 as well. Sadly the camera still doess not work!

How exactly did you install 8.2? I thought there wasn't a way to roll back after you installed 8.3.

Wow, so many descriptions of problems. That annoys me. I decided to replace the defect camera modul. The camera worked one month, and now... the same problem! Really? Hi Apple, What's wrong here? Its very upsetting!!!

This works for mine but it only last for few hours then back to the same problem.

I am sure the camera has nothing wrong. The problem happen right after iOS upgrade. Can't use the camera is really *****

This happened to me today - several weeks after installing the 8.3 update. Sometimes the front camera will work, sometimes the back camera seems to be working but is very hazy/fuzzy to where nothing can be seen - but most of the time the screen is just black. I hope Apple sees enough customers experiencing the same issue to make it a priority to get a fix out ASAP.
