Safari doesn't work after iOS 8.3 update

After the iOS 8.3 update, Safari is completely useless. I am unable to open any URLs or search. Nothing happens when I type and return in the search bar. Sometimes even the go button doesn't highlight/activate.

I tried removing cache and disabling iCloud, but nothing worked.

Does anyone have a solution?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3

We ran into a similar issue and discovered that Safari becomes limited if you browse with Private on. Probably not a fix for anything you folks are seeing but turning off private and web sites that use LocalStorage; that is the key, start working.

Your suggestion makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Just another coincidence.

This is happening to me on my iPad 2.

At first I thought it was because we got Google Fiber installed, but it worked fine until I thought to myself...oh, let me update the iOS as that pesky little badge is telling me to do.

I updated and then rebooted. I updated all the apps that wanted to be updated and rebooted.

Tried Safari. The page with my favorites/bookmarks etc loaded but tapping on any of them just stalled. And I couldn't minimize the app screen or change by tapping another. All stopped and stalled.

I cleared the cache, or so I thought. Rebooted a few times.

Reset my wi-fi a couple of times. Made sure the iPad was connecting to the new Google-enabled wi-fi. Then changed back to see if it would work with our airport extreme.

Nope.

I wish I could uninstall and reinstall Safari. That would probably work.

Try this way,

1. "Settings" - "iCloud" - "Safari", turned it off.

2. "Settings" - "iCloud" - "iCloud Drive" - "Safari", turned it off.

3. "Safari" - click "bookmarks" icon - click "history" - click "Clear" - "Clear All History"

I felt the new IOS will check the online setting before open a new page, I turned those items off, the browser looks working well.

Make sure you did a backup for the bookmark and all safari's setting.

You may have simply proven that the problem is external to the user... something lagging or broken in the Apple cloud.

However, turning these features off means that we no longer get to use these features. I'd rather Apple just fix the issue... like if it takes more than X amount of time to contact the cloud, just ignore the cloud.
