after 10.2 update- imported clips displaying black

Hey tokpic, does transcoding the black clips to optimised or proxy media improve things, or do you even lose your audio then too?

On my MacBook Pro it sometimes brings the clips back to life, but on my iMac it only makes matters worse, and when I check those particular optimised files in the finder, they are zero bytes in size.

cigame me uploaded a short clip that worked for me, not a project. I'm not having a problem with the clip, which made me think the problem is a combination of some specific Panasonic formats and some machines.

Ah, understood.

What I've discovered is that on one of my machines the clips appear to behave ok until I add transitions (or probably anything that would require rendering) and I attempt to export - that's when export errors occur.

Would you mind if I uploaded a project to dropbox for you to take a peak at?

TThe project won't do much without the media.

I'm interested to know whether you are able to successfully export the included project to a master file straight off the bat, with no rendering or transcoding.

I have a similar problem. After upgrading to FCPX 10.2, some clips in my (converted) timeline went plain "ivory" or "sandy"... The clips in the library were OK, so I could replace them in the timeline. All clips are ProRes from a BMPCC.

Any idea how to correct that?

The red dot is just the camera's record light reflecting off my MacBook Pro screen.

Yes. No problem. It's fine. There are anomalies in the timeline. If a zoom in portions of the filmstrip show black. I get a flicker coming out of the fade in during timeline playback. That's not consistent. It depends on zoom setting. The export file is clean however.

Additional bad news...

I have another computer running the previous FCPX version and was able to download and transcode the same AVC clip fine.

BUT when I import the transcoded .MOV into FCPX 10.2 video is black with audio.

I see folks are lowering the resolution of their projects which brings the video back, but I do not want to do that.

Something odd is that none of the media when opened in the QT player inspector shows the correct frame rate. The rate is correct in Media Inspector, but not in the QT inspector.
